A. That's a lot of money for a fuel door.
B. Mitsi Eclipsey
C. Two fuel doors: one fake, one rice.

That's cool. Some people like them. Also, not really sure why someone would cosider them fake. Is it not the door to get to the fuel tank??? Ford put them on a car from the factory. And they are no more fake than imitation aluminum dash pieces, spinners for center caps, hood/side scoops, and any type of spoiler that has no real function other than looks. All of which have come on the mustang at one time or another. Not trying to be rude and everyone has their opinion. Also, I think the 2000 Bullitt concept was either out before the 00 eclipse or at about the same time.......Just saying.

Gotta agree with SSCOBRA, not my personal cup o' tea, but certainly more functional than fake scoops, etc

I was referring to the fake fuel cap on the back of the car. Made to look like gas cap, but not really one. I believe it is even listed in the parts book as a fuel cap, since that's what the guy at the parts counter tried to order me when I was trying to get a locking gas cap.

Any way, from the rear/drivers side, it just looks like it has two gas caps.

Too each there own. If I had 150 bucks burning a hole in my pocket, that's not the first thing I would get.

I will agree with that I misunderstood that part of your statement. And I do see what your saying. However, I guess it is still a matter of what is and what isn't. One is a real fuel door and the other is mearly a medallion around a trunk key hole of which most people remember as being a fuel door on ealry mustangs. I do agree that there could be and are better things to spend that kind of money on when modifing your stang. I guess it was more about the pricipal more than it was about the part. If we can all see things at least half as true as the other sees them, we're doing pretty good. Good point. (you could always shave the rear medallion), ...................lol

well I don't like it and agree I think of the mitsubishi when I see it, however, for those that do like it, it only applies with 2 way tape (fake screws ) and what keeps the door closed?

I'd like it if it were brushed aluminum. Some of us are way too touchy about the rice thing. I mean come on, Ford put them on from the factory on the Bullitt edition.

I think it's funny though that someone paid over $200 when the buy it now for similar ones was only $100.

IMO a chrome fuel door on the fender will only look as if it belongs there if the rear emblem is removed.

Brushed aluminum, a locking door, and actually held on with existing screws. Then they might have a purchase.

well I like it, thanks for the post. Maybe if we can figure out who makes them now, it wont cost a 100 bucks. I am certainly not going to pay that for a door. What do you mean not use existing screws. It states in the ad, remove the two screws from original and attach the new one. Are you referring to the fake screws on the outside of the cover.
P.S. Oh yah it also says available in powder coating or brushed. So whats the problem. I like the look.

Looks pretty good if you can shave the rear but then the rear might look plain. Im sure if you ordered any more than 5 of those the price would drop significantly
