'05-09 Mustang Faux Gas Cap decals?

One of the eye sores of my car, is the faded and old looking faux gas cap. I would like to know if you guys/gals have ideas for me? I really do not feel comfortable attempting to remove the whole cap and getting a new one. I was hoping to fix it with an overlay or decal. I had (for a while) a Cobra Jet-esque acrylic sticker on Whinnie, but I don't think it is appropriate for this car. Anyone have some ideas? Thanks!

You mean the centre and not the chrome part? What about spraying it in Plasti-Dip?

Yeah, sorry, just the center part looks bad. I should do Plasti-Dip! That's a good idea until I find a more permanent solution. Thanks!

No problem. I think it would look good blacked out.

To do a new badge is incredibly easy.

Just need some fishing line and saw it back and forth and the old badge comes off.

New badge will come with the adhesive.

How strong of fishing line do I need? I know the adhesive on the back is very tough.

I used just standard line... I don't remember the guage. Don't use too thin though or it will break

Just use a sawing motion... the line is more to get the process started.

Once you get an edge to pull up slightly you can use your fingers and just pull.

Let it set in the sun for a while or use a heat gun to heat it up and it'll come off a lot easier.
