The Pirates?!?! That's rough...aren't their season passes like $12????
How much does it cost to go to a game since the Yankees had to buy all those championships...I'm guessing more than the average fan has.

You see the weird thing is, when you win a certain number of championships people start coming to the games and you begin to make some money....funny how that happens..

Now I know the last decade hasn't been our best, and we dropped way too much money on A-rod. And Jeter's out for who knows how long?!?! This season isn't going to be a good one I'm afraid...

And it was against the Red Sox.
Of course they lost, like every game I go too

I don't think its going to be a bad year. I think we will have a good year but so will a lot of the AL East. We need to get away from relying on the long ball and get back to playing baseball. 98, when we one 114 games and the WS, we didn't have huge HR hitters. Tino, Bernie and O'Neil had some power, but not enoug to be a huge factor when it comes to HR. None of the had 30 HRs that year, but each had 100 or more RBIs. We played small ball and manufactured wins. Then we started signing HR hitters and that's the only way we could score. Its a lot of fun to watch, but when you rely on the long ball your screwed when the bats aren't working.
Tex will be back beginning of May so that will be good. All the guys we picked up to fill holes have been playing outstanding. Hafner looks like the Hafner in Cleveland. Youk and Wells are playing well.
I love how what seemed to be washed up players, come to NY and have great years. Joe Girardi is a beast.
Pitching is what it has been. Hughes is struggling but that's normal. Pettite is pitching phenomenal. Sabathia is as well and eating up those innings. Not to mention Mariano's back.
I think we will be alright. The East is going to be a very interesting division I think.

Let's see, last year I went and we were lower deck, right field, 7 rows from the field and it was 110 or something a ticket. Well worth it.
And it was against the Red Sox.

A-rod was worth that money. Whether or not he will be close to it now, only time will tell.

It'll no doubt be a tough year, but an exciting one to watch for sure.
And I couldn't agree more about the filler guys! They are playing amazingly, much better than I expected. Youk will be another one Redsox fans ***** about us buying when he has an amazing season.
The only replacement I don't care for is Nunez, but that's just because I crucify him for anything he doesn't do as well as I think Jeter could. I guess I'll have to put up with it since Jeter won't be back until after the break.
I love watching Mariano pitch. I grew up watching him close for them and I've always enjoyed it. gonna be sad seeing him go this year.
Personally I love Nunez. God forbid, when Jeter retires he is the future for us at SS. Get his arm under control and he's a very good if not an elite SS. Plus he gets to learn from the best everyday. I really don't know of a better fill in in the league then Nunez.
I have a good feeling about Hafner this year. Don't let him hit LP and he will have a great year I think. A-Rod is our DH of the future, but Id love to see Hafner stick around for a couple years.
