One thing to say at the moment

That is a good reason Jason. But I needed teh win for my Boys more than I needed to shut up Mercury. I'll bet you $5 he's on a morning talk show the day after the Colts lose. If they lose. He might even be on the post game show after the game.
The celebrating with champagne whenever another team loses a chance at a perfect season seems really petty and old to me at this point. Records are made to be broken and to celebrate every year that someone has once again failed to break your record just seems petty to me. IMHO.

Have you seen his "rap" that he did on Sportscenter in '07? It's downright shameful
We both must watch way too much Sportscenter.

That's right! He instantly found God!

Don't get me wrong, I was still angry when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick walked off the field and couldn't even shake hands with Eli Manning, but Mercury Morris and his little rap there irritate me a whole lot more.
Thanks for linking me, though -- now I'll be cheering for any team who can break Morris' record, just to see him shut up!
I thought it was cool Thursday night when both Bama and Texas players would pick each other up after knocking each other down. And pat each other on the helmet during the game as to say good job. Not everyone did it. But the leaders of each team seemed like they did it.
And the game was not chippy either. I respect Brown and Saban both for that. So many times youngsters get themselves over hyped and become chippy in College games. Miami comes to mind. These teams seemed to respect each other in both victory and defeat. It was nice. Though its the way it should always be.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Gary. You're absolutely right, and it's a shame more college football teams don't have the class that the Crimson Tide and the Longhorns showed on Thursday night. The sportsmanship that Alabama showed made me so proud of them too, that I didn't care that my team lost.
In the Pros it is a much different story, as it should be. I can't imagine a Chicago Bears player even accepting the hand of a Packer to help him up after a play or vice versa (though I have seen it happen!!) Or a Pittsburgh Penguin helping Ovechkin up after he drilled him into the boards.
However, as mentioned above, it is better to see it than not.
