Hey Ranger,
I see you live in VA. Are you going to convert from the Cubbies to the NATS?

Book -
No, for better or "worse" I will stick with the Cubs. Born and raised in the windy city and when I cut classes in high school, Wrigley was nearby. Did have the good sense to come down South in 66.
Always thought I would see them in/win a series at least once in my lifetime...come on guys HURRY UP. I think the Nats have a good chance to be real decent - the Cubs, just read this morning that Wood tightened up. (%%$&^&*)

Oh no, down goes Prior. They not deep enough to handle these sort of injuries all year long....

Yea, I woke up and when I started to read about Prior, I thought I had a website from last year..the beat goes on. Wood, Prior and no closer.
See your a Martin fan - "Good Choice"!
Attention Attention; Cubies are currently on schedule to implode sometime before opening day.
MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Chicago Cubs reliever Joe Borowski will miss at least six weeks with a broken bone in his arm, another loss for a pitching staff already without Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.
Borowski sustained a non-displaced fracture in his right ulna when he was hit by a line drive in Monday's 12-5 loss to Kansas City. He's wearing a splint and will begin a throwing program when the healing process is complete, approximately six weeks.
The injury means the Cubs will have to scramble again to fill a hole on their pitching staff. They're already without their top two starters, Wood and Prior. Wood has bursitis in his shoulder, but was scheduled to throw a side session Tuesday and could pitch in a game later this week. Prior has inflammation in his elbow. He didn't have any soreness after throwing off a mound Sunday, and planned to throw again Tuesday.

Not to worry - just another day in the life and times of the Cubs. Hope Nomar isn't using up all his hitting and home runs in spring training. BTW - Glad to see martin is hanging in there good so far!!
Yea I hope Mark can get it this year Ranger. But Roush in general is doing well so thats good as well. I think I am going to start rooting for this Edwards cat when Mark is done.
PS One of the O's pitchers got busted yesterday for DWI on his only day off during spring trianing. darn Kids.

OK - revised slightly.
1. Cards 97-65 (No chance of Ankiel losing those 7 games for them now, still some SS worries and Edmonds has to slow down eventually)
2. Reds 88-72 (Still think the pitching is better than many think and hitting is totally there. 50+ for Dunn this year)
3. Stros 82-80 (Still unsure about the age of this team - and they lost Kent)
4. Brewers 77-85 (Getting better - either 06 or 07 will be the year)
5. Cubs 75-87 (More injuries - less real power. Thx for pointing out Burnitz's #s were in Colorado!!)
6. Pirates 70-92. Man - it may never get better.

Still early but looks looks like you hit it with the Cards and Pittsburg. In spite of the Cubs recent "fortune" -not giving up on them for the wild card. Reds pitching appears weak - thought they might be the sleeper in the div
Aaaaaaarrrrggggg - the Reds are simply awful
Revised as we near the AS Break. (Hey, Milwaukee and Pitt are stepping up and the Brewers called up both phenoms)
Cards 96-66.
Brewers 84-78.
Pirates 79-83.
Cubs 75-87.
Stros 73-89.
My beloved Reds - 70-92.
Another season lost. The trades are coming and with Griffey healthy and playing well - watch for him to be moved. I'd love to see Kearns get hot and be packaged with Mercker for some talented young SP......

I had picked the Cubs/Cards/Stros to be the top 3 in the division. Look like the Cards should win this thing and Houston might as well start rebuilding. Cubs, as usual, making me lose what little hair I have but still will pick for the Wild Card.
For those Sosa fans/detractors, as of today:
Sosa: 262Avg/8HR/21RBI/22Runs/1SB
Burnitz: 280/11/40/37/3
