As a Cubbie fan for like the last 45 years, I try not to let my emotions run away but I do think they have a chance. If Wood can come on in relief and have control from the getgo it should help their bullpen situation which has been a shortfall for years. The trade will help the leadoff situation and get some runners on for Lee, etc. Nomar is a big question mark. IMO you have one solid team in the whole NL (Cards) and a bunch of 500 clubs. They play like 21 of these last 48 games with the Stros and Cards, so their destiny is in their own hands. If they can beat the teams they are suppose to and if the players quit concerning themselves with who the fans are booing and whether Baker is coming or going, then they have a good shot.

SANTO FOT THE HOF!

I am curious to see what kind of trade Walk Jocketty will make this year for the Cards. He has a reputation to keep up, can't go this year without a deal. I have heard rumors about Brian Giles in a trade.

Well, the cubs kind of sucked again last year, but I think they are looking pretty good for next year as long as they can stay healthy.

Man - I was off last year too.

The Cubs are talking about trading Prior to Tejada though - I think that would be a mistake.

I swear the Cubs are just cursed. Wood and Prior are still hurt and now D.Lee gets a broken wrist. Its sad.

As a Cubs fan of like 48 years, I have come to the conclusion it is not a curse. Curses can be broken. I always knew I would not live forever but in my own stupidity - thought I would at least see them in a World Series before cashing out - WRONG!!!
