Anybody Got A Spare Coach?
Off to a 1-7 start, their worst season in 35 years, the Washington Huskies announced yesterday that Keith Gilbertson, their head coach, will resign at the end of the season. He's a good man, and was the offensive coordinator when they won the national championship under Don James in 1992, but his record as a head coach has been mediocre. Oh, how the mighty have fallen
I haven't heard any names of potential candidates yet. I wonder if Steve Spurrier will get a call. Nah.

No need for any more massive responses. The Huskies found a coach, and I think he's a good one. Ty Willingham, ex Stanford and recently of Notre Dame fame, has accepted the position. I think he's a class act and a good coach and with any luck my Dawgs will win more than one game next year.
All they have to do is recruit a good quarterback--Lord knows they don't have one day--and some better offensive linemen. That's been their Achilles heel for some time now. Always big but ineffectual.
Ah, we shall see.
