MAstroeni started to slide before the Italian player passed the ball

And Pope got a yellow after he slid and got ball, and then he inadvertently got player after the ball was gone

I don't think that Ghana's win was shock. Ghana killed them, but Czech Republic did play without Koller. Ghana also played really good against Italy, but they made 2 big mistakes and they lost.

Both red cars were good calls. There are new rules that says if you faul somebody with both legs its red card. That's why Mateja Kezman from Serbia & Montegengro got red cars against Argentina.

I have seen harder slides this cup than those by the US, and they didnt even receive a yellow.
They are really going card crazy this year thanks to FIFA... I understand most of the new rules, but I'm not liking the sliding rule

Those fauls don't have to be real hard, but if they're with both legs than it's red car.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either.

I still think they can beat Australia and advance to the 1/8 finals.

Well, England drew but won the group, shame that Owen has been injured, out for 5 months apparently...

Good luck to Mexico today! If Mexico win and then beat Holland in the second round, England will play them in the 1/4's.......!!!

Well, Mexico got out of their group (not in fancy fashion though)

I would love to see Mexico Vs. England! (El Tri might learn a thing or two on how to attack)

yeah, that was tough. It was all academic though as neither team could qualify, so maybe the players were not trying as hard as they should. Looks like Italy and Ghana are going to go through now.

Just goes to show the fifa rankings are a load of bull though, USA 5th and the Czech republic 2nd!!! both go out, Italy 13rd and Ghana 48th, go through.....

I never liked FIFA Rankins either. They never consider who your opponent is, only scores.
Teams like USA always have easy rivals from Central America and its easy for them to qualify. If they had to play against teams like Holland, England, France, Spain, Germany ... they would never qualify for the World Cup.

Are the FIFA rankings done by a computer or something?

no, if they were done by a computer they would be accurate!!

Just been watching the Brazil-Japan and Australia-Croatia matches. Japan played valiantly, but couldn't beat Brazil even though they were 1-0 up at one point....

Croatia, what a stupid game that was! That is onlt the second time in my life I have seen a player get three yellow cards!

Who did get 3 yellow cards?

Šimić and Simonić got 2 yellow or 1 red.
