I'll wait for the original hoopla to calm down then try to trade mine in. If a fair deal does not materilize for a '07 I'll wait for a '08 or '09.

My insurance compant has a special deal for sports cars and collector cars,so it wont be too bad. I'm willing to pay a lot for insurance because its my dream car and I will have it for the rest of my life.

I would love to get one, but the logical side of my brain keeps winning the argument so far (could have a nice GT vert AND a daily driver for the price of the Shelby). If it ever gets to the point where they are actually in dealerships and can be bought instead of waiting months/ years, I would probably not be able to resist at that point

I'll let someone take the new car hit and purchase one, then sell it because he/she can't keep up the notes/gas prices and pick it up cheap (not $$$ over msrp). I'm in no hurry.

I'm going to get mine around my birthday in 2007. I'm not worried about getting into a list because I'm sure Galpin Ford will have them in stock.

Don't be so sure. I called them within hours of the GT500 being unveiled, and I got #3 on the list. They may have them in stock, and available for general sale, after the first year but, if this is going to be a limited production model, don't get your hopes up about just walking onto the lot and pointing to the one you want for your birthday.

If the GT500 goes on sale in mid 2006, I think they should have the car on the lot in about 5 to 6 months. They are the largest Ford dealer, they are always the first ones to get the cars. The Ford GT's are limited production also & they had a pretty good amount of them, they sold the first Ford GT to Jay Leno. In 2003 they had the back full of SVT Mustang Cobras.

Perhaps, obviously time will tell. I know they'll at least have one more available for sale if they try to charge more than MSRP for them when they hit the lots. Hopefully they won't, though, and I'll be able to get mine.

I want one really bad, I already graduated HS and graduate from UTI on Oct 06, so hopefully I can swing one by 09 or a bit later. If it's a limited run, I'd just get whatever top SE the may have thats below 50.

Gotta work hard now to make it all work smoothly later.

I'll second that, I'm on two waiting lists to order.
