Welcome to the new Forum
Brad,
Please don't start the rumors about the retractable hard top. The thoughts of a 2007 GT500 KR Convertible makes me lose sleep at night.
I'd be happy if Ford only made two. One for Bill Ford, and one for me...

Shelby is definitely involved. I am 100% absolutely certain of this.

Sigh. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this.
Oh well.
I think I can live with it.

I talked to one of my sources at Ford today, and he said that a lot of the info leaked is right (I assume that's the name and the engine), but he also said there'll be a suprise no one's expecting!

Somehow, I think this car is going to be affordable, because I think there may be two variations - one priced around that of the last Cobra (with similar performance), and one priced upmarket for the elite crowd and offering 500+ horses.
Again, for want of a better name, call them GT350 and GT500 Shelbys by SVT. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that the surprise is that Ford will roll out two twin cars at the NYIAS.

I can't see Ford, SVT, or Shelby dropping the Cobra name-sake. It's got too much "attention getter" to it. I'm sure they'll find someway to get it in there.

That's why this whole thing works perfectly.

I know, I'm in agreement w/ you. I was just commenting on the statement you made about being called GT 350 and GT 500.

You young folks kill me. The Shelby's WERE Cobras - where do you think the whole Cobra thing came from in the first place? Take a good look at the badge on a '67 or '68 Shelby GT500 and guess what? You'll see a Cobra snake.

Shelby seems to get all the credit but there was a great deal of support from Ford and its personnel.

My point was that whole Cobra moniker first originated with Shelby.
