It appears as if the hood everyone hates is here to stay. I called SVT today and after seeing the photo of the hood stripes in a ford parts catalog with the vent cutouts I asked the question. The reply was a pretty straight forward the hood seen at the Woodward show was pretty much the one we were going to get. It seems although ugly it extracts heat well with the large vents. I asked about the ugly vent cutouts and he said the vinyl stripes would be cut straight. The only other possibility is the flat hood with the slightly smaller vents seen on the white prototype. There are photos of it on mphonline.com in the spy section. I hope they use this one instead.

I didnt like the hood at first either... but knowing that the stripes will be thickened to match up with the vents, it won't look bad. Although, I have yet to see my dream match... white with blue stripes, but I'm pretty sure even blue stripes would go nicely with the black vents.
As long as they are there for a good purpose, it's alright with me

I'm thinking we might see white/blue as the NAIAS show car. That is what I think of when I think of classic Shelby. That is what I am leaning toward, but, I want to see blue/white as well before I decide. Those spy shots of the blue/white looked pretty sweet. I'd like to see both in person before I order.

I think that the is the question a lot of future purchasers are asking white/blue or blue/white.
I was kinda hoping for a few more color/stripe color options, but it does not look like they will be coming...time will tell though, still time to hope. I have always thought white/red was pretty smooth and yet still a little flashy too...

I think we will also see black with silver or black with gold ala. GT350H, Yellow with black, valencia orange with black. I think we will see a special green also. Either legend lime or, hopefully, DHG with white stripes.
I might be swayed by any of the above schemes. DHG just might get the nod.
I'm starting to get fired up. Only 50 days left. I've been waiting for that day for a long time. I am going to NAIAS to see it in person.

I actually like the hood. It looks aggressive in pictures. I bet it looks really aggressive from the driver's seat (which is where I hope to be soon). I don't like the cutout stripes.

Crazyhorse, please let us know what you think of it up close. I had planned on going but Uncle Sam has decided that I am needed here.

I'm planning to go late in the week. Hopefully, some of the excitement will have worn off and I can get better shots of it.

I wonder if we get to keep the cheapo mirrors, too.
Yeah, yeah, I know...and the answer is "No, I DON'T want any cheese with my whine." That's the point.
But from all accounts, we're going to get it anyway.

I'm sure I will. I hope to get some pics, but, I bet it will be tough as that car will be constantly surrounded. The 2005 production Mustang GT was covered in people the whole time I was there when it was unveiled. In fact, I was one of them.
