Has anyone heard anything about a possible drop top on the 2007 Shelby GT 500 Cobra?

I haven't heard anything, but it would seem logical that a vert will be offered since the platform was designed for one. And Ford seems to be on a sort of nostalgia trip, which is good. Remember the vert Kevin Costner drove in "Bull Durham"? Something like that would be awesome.

There definitely will be a GT500 ragtop. In fact, there are at least three being driven around Ford campus.

I'll bet the Cobra vert will easily walk every last Z06 drop-top, no problem...

Supposedly they'll introduce the vert with the production model Cobra at the NAIAS show in Detroit in Jan. '06.

GT500 blast a Z06 vert?
You're dreaming...

really...
because there ARE no Z06 verts. They are coupes only.

And the new Z06s are insanely fast..... good luck

When you're talking two cars at this performance level the driver becomes a big factor. A great driver in a Shelby will likely whip a stooge in a Z06 pretty handily. Things like whether the traction lock is on will make all the difference in an impromptu street race. A lot of Z06 drivers are not well versed in the art of street racing

That's the point of his thread, as their will be no Z06 Convertible. I find the humor rather amusing..
