Saw the 06 Cobra today
#1
So... I was out and about... actually, just got back from going to the Dearborn Animal Shelter (looking to pick up a pet soon) and was cruising down Allen Road and passed this place where I know they do test drives from. On my way to the shelter.. I saw an 05 Silver GT in the lot.
On my way home.. I took the same route and who should be coming my way in the oppisite direction... an 06 SVT Cobra It has a HUGE hood scoop on it. The rims are blacked out for now.. looks to be atleast an 18' rim on it. Didn't hear it.. cuz I had my cd player cranking. So... I whipped my car around and sure enough.. if was going right to the place I thought it would. This small lot, that has held some mules in it before. Not sure what the building is called though... it's in a pretty industrial area of Melvindale.
I parked my car on one of the side streets and walked on the sidewalk in front of the lot. Saw where the Cobra was parked.. it's back end was out... it parked forward so you couldn't see the hood scoop, nor could you see it from the side either... it was parked right next to a Jeep Cherokee I did my best to try to get a shot.. but as I went up closer to the fence.. 2 worker came out and walked right over to the Cobra. So foiled my plans. And I couldn't get a shot from where I was at.. and I tried.
So.. I walked up the street to where my car was parked and out comes a Redfire V6 with this HUGE trailer hitched hooked up to it. It was tall too.. about as tall at the hood and came out a little. The "V6" sounded good. I think it was hiding something.
Here's the picture I could get... it's that of the Silver GT (not the Cobra I saw being driven.. so it doesn't confuse anyone) and it does have the 18" rims that were shown on the GT at the NAIAS in Jan of 2004.
This picture is that of the 05 GT I just mentioned.. it does have these rims
I didn't know at the time I shot the pic that the wheels were cocked to the side Was trying to be sneaky since all I had on me was my camera phone. I should've snapped the picture from the other side.. but I was more concentrated on getting a Cobra shot.
The hood scoop is HUGE. Looks nothing like the "spy shot" from Naples, FL... not saying that that "Cobra" is fake or what not.. but based on what I saw and what that picture looked like.. the hoods are not the same.
Now that I know where it's den is at... I'll be back either tomorrow before work or on Wednesday and try my best to get a good shot of it.

Amy, is there a big hood scoop? Because I don't see it on your pic. Maybe it looks like the concept hood?

The Cobra is parked over to the left of that picture.. on the side of the building.. sandwiched between a Jeep and something else.
TRIED.. to get a shot.. but there was no way I could. You couldn't see the hood from that angle.
But.. did see it driving.. looked pretty aggressive.
I honestly haven't looked at anyones Photoshop jobs of what they think it might look like.. so I can't judge it by that either. I'll try to do a drawing of it sometime.
The hood I saw on the one being driven DOES NOT look like the concept hood at all. This hood sticks up pretty tall. Looks taller than my 01 hood scoop.

We need some clarification I think, is the first picture up there the shot of the Cobra mule or a regular GT with the concept rims...
Get a shot of that scoop! ( Hmm, get the scoop on the scoop )
edit: late to the party

The cobra pictures from Florida had a cowl hood. Did this one have a cowl hood or a scoop? A scoop would be much better. When you go back try to get a picture of the silver GT with the 18s facing the camera. Thanks for investigating for us!

It does not look like that
Those drawings look like that of the "Cobra" that was in Naples, FL... the one I saw looked a little different.
Didn't have a cowl hood. It's a hood scoop.

I have this crazy feeling this thread is going to spread faster than a wildfire in the forest. I just looked at this thread 3 minutes ago and six people replied to it from then until I hit the refresh button.

The 'Naples' pic was never conclusively determined to be a photoshop, but there are enough uncertainities to regard it as such. Now back to watching CSI: Dearborn...

Imma weirdo.. so if you want you're chick to be an odd broad...
Here's a real quick and dirty PS job of what I saw. Normally I can work well in PS.. so take it for what it is for now hahaha Hopefully.. I can get the real pics soon. Trying to remember all of it.
It looked like it came to a point in the front... and went up high.. as high as a cowl hood... but didn't end where the cowl hood ends.. this one ended as if it was a hood scoop. Looked to be at the most 6 inches from the end (begining) of the hood.
