I have no problem with this one, they are bidding at purchase price, not amount over sticker, and its a limited production car. Is Saleen actually gonna get them out that fast??

sticker is $38k, but I doubt anyone can find one for that price.

Edit: Directly from Saleen.com:
"Pricing for the 2005 Saleen S281 starts at around $38,000 for the 3-Valve and just under $45,000 for the supercharged model."

The Saleen is pretty sick. The more I see it the more I like it. 38 - 45K is a lot of money though. You could make a lot of your own mods on a GT just the way you wanted for that price.

For those curious about the high MSRP on ebay, asked the seller and here is the response:

You asked:
"The MSRP is $38,000, this is directly from Saleen. The supercharged version's MSRP is $45,000. http://www.saleen.com/2005_s281.htm"

Thank you for your question. Let me give you the pricing as I have it directly from Saleen. Base price for the S281 Coupe non supercharged is 39,043.00 Saleen 14" Brake option $2055.00 Saleen Chrome wheels. $1214.00 Saleen HID headlights $900.00 Enclosed transport to dealer $1375.00 Shaker 500 audio option from Ford $665.00 Saleen Total MSRP $45,252.00 Please let me know if you have any more questions. I would be happy to assist you. Ron

I think the best part of the Saleen is that there is now a seemingly DOT approved HID package for the stang. Can you buy parts seperately from Saleen?

Saleen can't possibly be any more rediculously priced. They dont even lower cars properly. The old ones they charged 20k for a wavy body kit, 200 bucks worth of springs for their 'special suspension', some cast wheels(not even forged) seat covers and a bolt on blower.

I agree, who pays $15k for a paint job?

I don't see the HID option on Saleen's site... is it real? Or, maybe only found on the Saleen S7. Hmmmmm! I'd L-O-V-E HIDs that were actually legal and OEM spec for once.

I don't think they have any '05 Mustang parts on their yet, I got the HID option info from a Saleen authorized dealer.

Holderca -- if you look at the eBay pics of the front, the headlights DO look a bit goofy, like they have a projector in them, which my mom's bmw 325ci has too (i.e. HIDs) This is definitely one of the best things available if in-fact it will be (and $900 isn't "too" bad).

I agree, I definitely want aftermarket head lamps, $900 seems a little high though, I am sure some aftermarket company will have them for less.

Please clarrify what you mean by "not properly".

I certainly agree about the price though.
$45k = Vette territory in price, no where near in performance.
