Saleen PJ on Ebay for under 40k

Glad I am not trying to sell mine. These prices are a brutal price drop. This one is $39,750.

Beautiful cars though. I saw one on Auto Trader in the College Station Tx, area for 40k with 900 miles on it...

Hate to see them drop this much for those of you who bought them, but in a year or two may make it possible for me to ****** one up...would be nice to have 2 factory shaker cars in the garage...

Roush and modded GTs face the same predicament.

It's Brutal Right now, look at Saleen Extreme prices. An 06 Extreme with low miles pulls no more then $40k on bids. The cars just get relisted over and over. lol I've been trying to sell my cousins 06 Extreme but even the dealer won't buy it back since they can't sell what they have. I'm just going to work something out and keep it. I think I saw an 07 pull $50k with 800 miles on it. Outside of a Shelby Stang prices are in the toliet.

Wish I had 40K laying around or I could wait until they drop to 30K which will be just around the corner. Reminds me of the 1st gen Dodge Vipers. New price was $60k+ and now low mileage cars can he had for as little as mid/high 20K. Sexier than the newer ones to boot. The early ninties ZR1 was ungodly priced then and can be got for 20k now. They were rare and exclusive THEN. Just used now. No matter how exclusive or expensive a musclecar is at it 1st year out it will be nothing more than a used car for several years later until it becomes a classic. Might be 100K in the year 2020 only if the car hasn't seen the road and has been bubble wrapped since day 1. Until then save your $$$ and wait on a deal.

What do we think the reason for this is? The economy/consumer confidence, gas prices w/ the v8, or something else regarding collectability? I'd guess it's not gas prices since I doubt most would by one for a DD, but what do you guys think? Too many SE's ?

I think its all of the above(the economy, people loosing homes, gas prices, ect.)

Even at 40k its a lot of coin for a mustang. The market for that car is limited. The dealer that I bought mine from has a brand new PJ for 46k

As for me I didn't get it for the future value, I got it for the fun I can have with it today! I'm going to drive the wheels off of it and after I'm long gone and buried let the next guy deal with the resale/collectablity.

I got mine for much the same reasons. I makes me feel good to hear it, see it and drive it. My ten-year-old love the sounds in makes too. Just wish I had found the new one for 46k you mentioned. Although I did ok back in Feb of this year on mine.

I'm glad to see everyone buying these cars to enjoy them. I tried to explain the same thing to my cousins wife that even though they paid $72k plus tax for the Saleen it's only worth half that right now. Of course it's hard for her to swallow, and it would be for me too. If she wanted to sit on it for another 20 years then it might be worth more then her husband paid. Until then it is just like many of you said another used "but very nice" car. In the meantime if you didn't have to be the first guy on the block to own the car now is the time to buy!

No, no, no, please don't tempt me! Man, I thought $45k was a good price, but I keep holding out because I go back and forth between the GT500, and the PJ! I am just not sure about the Grabber Orange color, and if it is a color that I would get very tired of after awhile!
I have driven the PJ and the Saleen Heritage H302! The PJ is a great package for the money. Great blowerless motor, great retro interior, suspension etc. it is ready to go. If you figure the price of buying a GT Premium, doing all the mods that most of us will end up doing, (lowering, wheels, exhaust etc, etc) $39K is a steal and probably the lowest price I have seen. The motor is great, and it just feels way more nimble and responsive than the GT. But, I think the best parts is the sound the engine makes, the combination of motor, shaker hood, exhaust etc., nothing else seems to compare!
The GT500 would need suspension, brake mods, exhaust, etc which equals more $$$$$ which shouldn't be necessary for a $45-$50k car!
However, I still believe both cars are still headed downward as far as pricing! I can live without either one and have plenty of other toys to keep me occupied in the mean time!!!
But please, keep posting the great buys!!
