noticed on the Saleen that the rear quarter seems to be made up of 2 pieces.

Can any of you guys/gals with an '05 check to see if it's made of 2 pieces on the regular GT/V6?

It is not, the factory 1/4 is from one stamping.

If you notice the saleen rear is extended by quite a few inches. The 1/4 panel extention makes that possible.

Ya know, I never noticed that before. So really the Saleen would end up being just a little longer than the GT.

It's to double the downforce in the rear right?

yeah i totally agree... I'm not a big fan of the new Saleen, but i was just wondering about that rear

Ans thinking more about it makes me think that the "Saleen Kit" is gunna cost a FORTUNE..... think of all the pieces you'll need ... JUST FOR THE REAR!!!!

I would like to see the Saleen without that added spoiler. The ducktail they have incorportated with their custom quarter extensions and custom trunklid appears like it could look pretty nice with out the tacked-on turd sitting on top !!

The extensions recess the tailight panel making it look more like a '70 Mach 1 ... but then the taillight treatment reminds me of a '70-71 'Cuda, and must say I kind of like that too !!

No, they're the same length. Look at how the Edge of the Quarter on the Saleen is now at the same point as the Rear Edge of the Stock 05's bumper. They just extended the Qtr to Add the Ducktail, and recess the tail lights like an S7.

Have to agree, I think the Saleen is teh hotness but the extra spoiler needs to go.

The ducktail alone would make it sweet.
