Is it true?

No IRS?

If so, the GT500 can only be considered a miserable disappointment.

Truly...an opportunity missed.

no offense, man, but this subject is dead now, stop female ******* and moaning about it, the car has 450 horses plus, a 6 speed, and functional scoops, the IRS is inferior to all this, so, do the world a favor, and NO NEED FOR THAT TONE

An opportunity for even more broken half shafts and endless wheel hop. Ford has IRS test mules so who really knows.

First off you don't know if it will be offered as an option, second why the heck would you automatically be turned off by a car just because it doesn't have IRS. People would rather have a pooty irs in a car just to say it has irs. A great live axle, which is what the 05 has, is better than many irs setups, so how bout you try it first and crie when it puts up bad numbers, which wont happen anyway.

No, I will not 'shut up', thank you very much.

What good is 450+ hp, a 6 speed and scoops if it's only good in a straight line

I had reservations about buying the GT not knowing the details of the forthcoming SVT.

Now I don't.

Ford has served us up yet another car designed not by the engineering deptartment...but by the accounting department

Wimply BMW M3s cant beat the live axle cars on the track in race trim, so what do you want an IRS for anyway, to knock your fillings out on rough roads??

look, the GT's SRA performs BETTER than the IRS of the cobra in the slalom, and now this beefed up axle will put the 04 IRS to shame, this car will rule all types of Racing

Apples & Oranges comparing 2 different generations of a car.

An '05 with an IRS would run circles around the current horse carriage inspired arrangement.

When it comes to lining their pockets, it's the SRA that is recommended by 4 out of 5 dentists...not the IRS.

I personally would love IRS as for wheel hope and broken half shafts...the vipers have been handling 500+hp no problem so there is no excuse except cost cuts.

If you use logic and sound reasoning like that around these 'old timers'...their heads will explode like in 'Scanners'.

welp I think having the IRS as an option would make sence. Although knowing fords track record if they did they probably bundle it with the most expensive stereo and leather and the ugliest spoiler they could find and tell you it's all or nothing.

You have absolutely no idea how this car will perform. Like i said you wont like anything short of irs so you could have a pooty irs and you happier than if you had a better performing live axle. Thats why your opinion doen't mean much, no information jsut critisism.

Stop at a Nissan dealer and take a track package 350 out sometime, or an RX7TT R1, or a Viper, or a Vette Z51. Brutal
