New Saleen in the works H281

Not sure of the specs yet but the rep is sending out pics on a new car. uses the PJ nose and tail pieces. Not sure if it is supercharged or not, the proto doesn't show anything under the hood and has stock wheels on it. I think it might be an appearance package like the basic S281.

Has the quad tips in the PJ rear facia, the mach 1 style rear spoiler (bent tips) stock hood and PJ nose. Has a reverse C-stripe and blackout hood panel. It must mean 'heritage' package. I like everything but the headlight splitters(the 3d ones look much better).

EDIT: it has the full PJ package scoops and spoiler.

If I could get the fascia without the horizontal bar across the headlights, and with fog lights in those brake holes...

As a package, it's nice. With all the hype and interest in the PJ, they may find quite a few buyers. Too late for me.

Are the stripes & hood painted or vinyl?

Not a huge fan of those louvers, but they can be changed easy enough.

IMO they should have added the shaker to complete the look. Maybe it will be an option.

the 4 exahust openings are an interesting touch. Kinda just looks like a stripped down PJ though

I called the Saleen Rep that we talk to about Mustang Week & he told me they would build 100 to see how they sold in 07 & may include it in the 08 line up.
Like all the other fixed up GTs it will go over window.

Could definitely see this car with the Shelby CS56s on it, as its not getting the PJ rims.

Its just the S281 with the PJ body kit. I'm not that crazy about it-you can see how far the Speedline wheels and stripes go to making the PJ look good. I kinda like the back bumper though, but you would be stuck with one kind of exhaust. I have a bunch of huge pics but everything to see is in those three. And topnotch found high-res ones of the finished car I was looking for last week. The headlight splitters are just stuck on. The nose looks like a shelby conversion with only half the work(and $$)-but looks a little heavy with the stock upper parts. The tilted headlights really make the GT-500. Was that the nose piece used in the GTR back in the day???

I'm not a fan of the C-stripes or the quad-tip exhaust, but other than that I think the car looks great. I love the PJ look, I would have to say it's actually my favorite edition of the S197. If this car had the PJ / Boss style stripes that terminated on the front fender, that would help a lot, as well as wheels. And I LOVE those new Saleen / PJ quarter window louvers, I WANT!!!

Talked to a Saleen rep. today. He said that they were going to offer the body kit as a whole first with 2 options. One being $2400 for front, rear, side skirts, and decklid panel, two being $3400 for the same as option 1 just with rear louvers and qtr. window covers. He also said that the parts should be for sale individually by the end of the year. We shall see. To me they would make a lot more money faster by selling the parts seperate.
