MotorTrend Says Shelby Mustang!
Yep, yep, yep...I knew it!
And by the way, I just caught that latest Road & Track issue where Hau Tai-Tang is interviewed. He states unequivocally that SVT is very much alive, but that while it will be building Ford's high performance vehicles, they won't necessarily be branded "SVT." The GT was a good example of a car worked upon by SVT but that wasn't called SVT. Same thing's gonna happen with the new uber-Stang. It'll be built by SVT, with design cues and "name brand" appeal by Shelby.

Ford, please quit toying with us. You don't need to get our excitement to any higher level than it already is.
motor trend's been calling a shelby mustang since they're first full article on the stang over a year ago. I'm thinking they're right, and that this is what we'll see this week. That doesn't mean there won't eventually also be a regular SVT stang, cause i'm thinking this Shelby will be more in the Z06, viper range, leaving something else to fill the old cobra slot. I think we'll only be seeing one crazy stang at NY though.
Maybe the shelby will come out for 2006 while the regular SVT will be a 2007 like they say.
