Just a thought - - how about a McIntosh Stereo upgrade option for the Shelby – like the one in the Ford GT? The retro looking head unit would look great in the car.

M3’s have Harmon Kardon upgrades – heck I have seen Subaru Outbacks with McIntosh Stereos in them…

McIntosh would be nice, but it all depends on how much. McIntosh is HiFi in a market of low fidelity Mp3 consumers, so Ford might not see it as a viable option.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. I would, however, think something like an Alpine audio option. It would do very well in a car like this. Most of the target buyers don't have any idea who Mcintosh is. They all know Alpine. Alpine makes mp3 capable head units. IT would be cheaper to put your own system in, but, I don't want to start taking the interior apart to do so. Eventually you will start getting rattles and visible wires, etc.

The Shaker systems are much better than the older factory systems, but, they still pale in comparison to the aftermarket ones.

I guess I agree...I just figured that someone should throw us some kind of bone since there is already talk of 25K mark-ups for a car the essentially does not even exist yet....

There won't be a $25k markup. I'm sure some dealers will try to get that. 3 or 4 might. Overall, the car will be marked up slightly (maybe 5k) at first. Some will get it. Eventually it will come down. Refuse to pay it and walk away. They will drop the markup either right then or whenever people quit paying it.
