Just back from Detroit

Just got back. A couple of interesting tidbits.
The guy on the podium (yeah, I know - "what does he know?") made a few statements that seemed new to me.
1. Job 1 is Monday (1/21).
seems fishy to me. He said the order codes and pricing will be in dealers March or April with delivery late April to early June at the latest. I can't figure out why they would start making them without orders. Who knows
.2. Rated at 475hp/lbft. But, "When you put it on the dyno, you will get a pleasant surprise"
sounds in line with Brad's 489 post.
3. It is under-rated at 475. They didn't use 500 because you don't want to bring out all the stops at once. "there are other Mustangs coming."
4. Later in the day (yes, i hung out there a long time), he said "When we make the GT500KR it will...and I missed the rest secondary to music in the background. I didn't get a chance to ask him what he said as I was on my way out and the crowd had gotten huge.
Take this for what you will, but, I doubt Ford would let him say these things in his over the loudspeaker spiel if they didn't want him to.
oh btw, six hundred thousand dollars. WOW.
"When we make a GT500KR..." ...
wow...all of that sounds like really, really good news.
Way to go, Kevin!!! I wished I lived closer to Detroit.......errr....no I don't!
I wonder what the demand will be for a GT500KR, if the price does hover around $60K? I know I won't be one standing in line.....but I will be envious of those that get one.
ps: Milstang, did you change your avitar.....are you telling us something?

I doubt they'll make a special edition Cobra since they have the one right now making more than 500 horses. But I'm not saying they might not make one. If they do I think it will be a stripped down version that weight's a lot less and it has better handling.

A "KR"...?
Did you actually say KR ?
God in heaven, the current GT500 is pushing 575 horses if Brad's 489 number is accurate!
Mmmmmmmmmmmm KR

I was in so much awe, I couldn't remember the exact words.

It would be nice to see the weight closer to 3500 lbs, since we are dreaming!
