Now look, I used to sell Fords at a dealer in Colorado, and I am very good friends with the Senior Sales Manager there. He told me yesterday (Sunday at a birthday party) that they are comming out with this car and it will have 500HP

I could only dream of this being true, but since he has a LOT of access to some privialedged info, I had to believe him, even if it is to keep my hopes up for the next couple of years......

I sure hope he is right, but that is all the info I have on it. Just throwing it out to ya all B)

Any thoughts on it?

Because Colorado has the mountain testing range where they drop all the cars off moutains. They get a lot of business.

That is just too good to be true. Ford recently introduced GT and Shelby Cobra Concept. Another 500+ hp car would be just too much.

Yes yes, he probably got confused with the Shelby Cobra concept.

Ford won't let Saleen and Roush out do the SVT. Not for long anyway.

I know it sounds pretty weak, but he ahs been in the car business for over 25 years and knows a ton of people in Ford. The dealership he works at is one of the oldest in the West, a third generation dealer.

So the info I think could be pretty solid.

yeah ,the price.... :notnice: if it is built, I could only imagine what the price would be.

I don't think he was confused at all about the model of the car. We were talking about the "GT", Cobra and new Stang. He said they get tons of calls daily on the arrival of the new Stang...

Also He said his dealer was getting 2 of the GTs but they didn't know which color scheme yet. I can't wait to go see one in person in the showroom when it arrives B)

Maybe its just me, but I could totally see the Shelby roadster coming out, and having it followed up with a Mustang version with the engine swapped in. It would be the shelby engine just in a stang.

That would be sweet for the same shelby engine in a roadster and a muscle car... Shelby Roadster and Shelby Mustang.

I think that Ford will deliver a 500HP Mustang, BUT it will be in a VERY limited production edition SE such as a new Cobra-R.

This would be very easy to do when Ford GT production ends. Take it's 550 HP engine stick it in a Mustang and make a few hundred 500+ HP Cobra-Rs. It this happens don't expect to see it until 2007 or 2008.
