I think we've lost touch with what the word "rice" means in the automotive world. It's not rice if it's fully functional, and you can bet everything on this GT-R is. The same wing on a 202-hp 2005 Mustang V-6 would be rice. On this 440-hp race car, it's required.
I think your right, we have lost touch with the rice term. I totally understand that a wing like that is required on a race car, i guess i wish that they could make it a little shorter [/b][/quote]
I agree with you, but lower is not and option. (usdclark this is not meant to attack your post )
Everyone listen! This IS NOT RICE. At speed of 150-200mph the wind does not just flow down the back of the car. A larger wing is used to catch the greater air flow moving over the car. This is especially true for cars that do a lot of excelerating and decelerating. THey must have the downforce to get their tires to hook up. Look at an F1 racer, Indy car, grand prix, rally, etc. They all necessitate rear wings that stick up high enough to grab enough air to force the rear of the car down. Why did ford say the present cobra is governed to 155? B/C it is aerodynamically unstable beyond that point. You show me a Civic that will race in a le mans race and I will tell you it needs the big spoiler. If this becomes a production car and the keep the spoiler and govern the engine, then it would be ricey MAYBE. Go study Aerodynamics before spouting Rice at everything. Do I want that wing? HE77 no! But it is totally appropriate on that car! :nono:

May not be rice, but I think that its quite ugly... The front fascia is way too busy in my opinion. But whatever. I'll take some pics at the Jacob Javitz for you guys.
