2007 Parnelli Jones Edition Saleen Mustang
Also, Saleen has put out info on the 08 Heritage model, which now features
the PJ 302 engine and other PJ parts with the Heritage graphics.
Also includes a PJ like price in the $60k+ range.
(Started a new thread with info on the H302 in this forum)
This makes the price of one-time-only build of H281's seem like a steal.
Saleen only built 57 H281s, so they may disappear quick.

...the big difference is that mine has the standard Saleen supercharged 4.6 engine set-up (rated ate 475 hp),
while the PJ uses the custom built Saleen 5.0 motor (rated at 400 hp).
StangPower05--thanks, I'm very happy with this Saleen, and think this one is the "keeper."
Just thought I would post a couple of recent pics of my PJ:
First pic was taken right after a car show for a commercial for Mustang Cologne.
The second shot was taken at Tasca Ford where the PJ and a newly restored 1970 Boss 302 were given some prime real estate together.
The third picture is of the PJ in my backyard with new cling decals I had made for the shows.

This is a question for both Bruce and Chuck,
What are you guys using on your flat black areas? wax? I ask because in the pic Bruce posted, his hood stripe looks shiny. I been wiping mine down with quick detailer but
it doesn't look too good, hard to explain.
George--Thanks.
All of the flat black areas on the Heritage are vinyl, even the hood, no flat paint used at all.
I use a quick detailer to spot clean and car soap for general cleaning.
Much easier to work with than the flat black painted hood on my old SA20.

I remember seeing heritage cars with saleen letters on the trunk edge, did they remove it for production cars?
Yep, the chrome letters and custom gas cap cover, (probably something like the PJ's) never made it to the small run of H281s.
Would not be surprised to find those items on the 08 H302 when it starts production.
And, yes there's vinyl on my trunk, there's even a small crease where it gets tucked over the edge.
The hood and trunk vinyl have a very subtle cross-hatch pattern,
almost like a faux-carbon fiber look.
I'll try to get a good close-up pic tomorrow.

George, I use ICE paste wax, liquid wax and detailer on all exterior surfaces (painted, rubber, vinyl and chrome). I think the shiny area you see is on the very front and is the Xpel clear bra. The whole front end to about 18" of the hood area is coated with the Xpel.

So Chuck you're car came with the Saleen supercharger on it, or was that an option that you ordered?
Sounds like a hell of a car. Was the 302 and option? A blown 302 would have been sweet.
No, the 302 engine was not available during this initial run of the Heritage, but the 08 version Saleen Heritage Mustang
will have the 302 block as standard equip (to be designated as the H302, instead of H281 like mine),
and a S/C kit may become an option.
