Dave, buy it for the weekends and I'll drive it during the week for ya. How about that?

Okay Jimmy - you got a deal......

(...... wait.... what??? )

Good to see all the responses - after the unveiling I suddenly have the darn virus to maybe sell my ride if I can track down a GT500 and get one...... down here, I certainly wouldn't have to worry about snow..... and as far as work, I work 20 minutes from my apt.......

Okay - how about this - the red and white doesn't thrill me like when I first saw the concept..... but the white with the blue stripes?

OMG - that makes my knees weak.... thanks to a member named Roadster2005 and his photochop skills, here is the white with blue GT500 with my 18 inch bullitts and Nittos......

So if the stars were able to align somehow and I WAS able to think about swinging this deal........ would I go Dark Knight Mark III? And go with black with tungsten stripes????

The white and blue?

Gray?.......

It's your car and your investment, do what you want. As for me, i'll keep driving my '73 Duster as my daily driver. Shelby will come out on the garage on nice days to stretch it's legs. I live in the snow belt of Long Island where conjestion is heavy. No need to park my Shelby at Best Buy only to come out and find it scratched or humped by the car next to it.....thats what the Duster is for.

When i do climb behind the wheel, it will get driven hard like it was meant to be driven. Oh, and for the rain, no, this car won't be purposely driven in it.

I thought you said the challenger is the real deal. Are you back on the GT500 bandwagon again?

You trying to be a clown or are you serious? I can't tell either way.

I put a deposit on this car back in April of '05. I don't think "bandwagon" applies here.

Wouldn't this be like marrying a super model and not going out?

"Where's your wife?"
"Oh, I only take her out on holidays."

Well, only if when you left your wife at home, she didn't age. Otherwise it's not really the same.

Drive It! I drive mine every day I'm in town and have NEVER regretted a single day not even a slushy, salty wet cruise, because I can wash it and draw a crowd of admirers even on a cold day. Wash often and well with a wand, clay bar and wax twice a year, vacumm the interior once a week and DRIVE!!!

Driving in the rain means a lot of work cleaning up to show quality and its just too much work so it stays in the carage. I rather spend my time drivivg it and not cleaning it.

another vote for - if u buy do what u want with it - its your car - so make it a dialy driver if u want to.

if i get mine - i will do what i want with it cause it is my car - i will mod it - prob do pully / tune / exhaust / shifter / lowering springs / 4.10 gear / window tint

mine prob wont be a daily driver for two reasons - i have 3 other cars to choose from and my job as a millwright dosent exacly lend itself to using a mustang as your transportation - i need to lug my tools around and that is what my truck is for

as for future value - not my concern - i have a 96 SVT Cobra vert that i bought brand new - still have it ten years later - car has more than 20K in mods done to it - i dont have any plans to sell it so future value is not a concern to me - same goes for the shelby i want to enjoy and keep it

Definitely Drive it!!!!!!!!!! I am number one on a SVT dealers list, I am 60 years old, and may not live long enough to see the car become a Collector Car, so drive away, unless you have a Crystal ball to see the future.

You do whatever you want to Dave if you can afford to buy , you can afford to make the choice.

I myself cant see anyway Im going to bring home a 50k+ car ( thats 45k + extreme dealer markups for sure) . And even if I could afford the car, with gas prices heading to $3.50+ a gallon this Shelby would make a lousy daily driver,( might be lucky to get 15 mpg on premium fuel) and I dont live more than 15 miles from work. Besides the gas guzzeling, this car will surely ride harder, and have a stiffer clutch than my 05.

No my 05 is about as perfect a daily driver/sports car as you can get. Lets see, 300hp, average mpg 18 on regular gas, room for four adults for short drives, Sirius radio and fully reclining seats for long drives, fold down back seats with trunk access for 8 ft trim peices I occasionaly pickup at home depot with only a few inches hanging out window, ( try that in your 350Z or M3 coupe), standard GT model so parts or damage is not an expensive worry.

If I could buy one, she would have to be a low milage weekend driver, better than money in the bank, cause one day when ol Shelby is gone, you could retire on that car!

Geez I had forgotten about this thread - this was back when there was the tiniest minutest possibility that I thought I might be able to CONSIDER swinging a Shelby...

Yeah right...

Oh well
