1. What size are those BFG G-force KDW's on the titanium show car?
2. What is the overall diameter of the 235/55-17 pirelli's that come stock on 05 GT's?
3. Is the bolt pattern different on the new stangs? I was under the impression that it is, but at the annual local Mustang show on Sunday, there was a red 05 GT with Chrome Bullitt replica's in 18x9 with 275/40ZR18 Nitto 555's. I believe these are the same rims that AFR makes for 94-04 stangs...
4. How would 275/40-18's differ compared to 235/55-17's in diameter, and width...

Not like I'll be getting a new stang anytime soon, but these questions have been bothering me, since I can't find the answers...

A friend of mine works for a company called UBE. They are making the 18" fanblades for the mustang. He says FORD is not releasing them until 2006. He will send me some pics of the rims. He also said the rims are no longer chrome, just polished. Companies are trying to get away from Chrome due to the negative impact the chemicals have with the enviroment. If you look at the pic of the car above with the fanblades on it, they are not chromed.

The source is good as he is the Inventory control manager. I also spoke to the plant accountant who confirmed his statement.

For tire size comparisons try thiis link
Tire Size Calc
25mm=approx 1 inch the bolt pattern is the same the offset is different the new offset is +42mm the old is about +25mm I think I'm positive about the new the old I am pretty sure about.
235/55R17 diameter is 27.2
275/40R18 diameter is 26.7 Inches. width the 275 are 40mm wider so almost 2 inches wider.

I'm happy we're getting the fanblades but no CHROME??? Man, that stinks!

Ah, the satin finish Fanblades, now there's the wheel the Mustang GT should have had from day one. Why is Ford so lame in bringing them on line right away anyway? I mean, 18" wheels, like that's some new bleeding edge technology or something!

I do like the satin finish a lot better than the chrome, which to my eye is just too gaudy and cheesy, like they're screaming a bit too much for attention.

Though I've always been a fan of machined rims, I think the chrome ones might better suit a car with metallic paint.

I have to agree with Dan... and I normally hate chrome wheels. But the chrome fan blades would be nice... at least as an option.
