You are all wrong...Mexico and Canada dont get your pollution we do up here in Maine! We had that emmision testing law up here a few years back and it didnt fly. So they stuck us with the cancer casuing MTBE in the gas. We dont even create the pollution but ar eleft dealing with all the BS afterwards. It should be just taken care of at the respective source. And I dont wanna hear about the cost of retro fitting plants and such. the cost just gets pushed on anyway. If you would have walked out in the Maine woods 20 years ago and did so now you would see the difference. And whoever was from Mexico enjoy the spectacular football game we are sending you this fall...San Fran 49's vs. Arizona Cardinals..talk about pollution

I am not sure what Magazines you all are reading, but don't lump all the Saleens together here. A GT and a S281 could be a pretty good drag race, however on the road course I think the GT would choking on the that non compliant emmission. However a GT and a s281 SC drag or road course would leave the GT at the starting gates.

This thread's 5 months old. I don't think the SC was avail then, the test article was on a non SC Saleen. And w/o the SC, the base Saleen does not leave the GT at the gates. When did the GT have non compliant emmissions?

Actually Texas does have emission regulations as well. There is a state inspection you have to pass every year.
You must be thinking of Alabama where they can drive with no pipes, mufflers, hood, fenders etc.
I'm not bashing Alabama, I still love to visit Birmingham and might retire there. Just stating what I have seen living in both states for quite a while.
P.S. Yes, the SC Saleen will outrun the GT but as stated previously when this thread was started there were zero SC for sale.

I can confirm seeing a saleen 05 on the streets in Yorba Linda Ca. I wonder if maybe it's only the SC'ed ones that aren't compliant?
California has some really hippy laws, all of them tree huggers driving 25 year old emission belching volvos or 35 year old VW busses that emit more photocarbons than a top fuel dragster should get a grip. Like those fools who burnt up those hummers causing more pollution in one morning than those vehicles would emit in a life time.
But hey, we got fantastic weather!
