ok i went by Napa Lincoln Mercury this afternoon since i was driving thru town and wanted to see some saleens since theyre a saleen authorized dealer...well i talk to a sales guy and he gives me what sounds like BS...... "we cant bring them out or show them since saleen was late on signing some clean air act papers with the state of CA, and due to them having spies we cant afford to show u any saleens because if we do we'd be fined $15,000" i didnt wanna test drive the darn thing, i just wanted to look at it 'cause who in their right mind would let a 19 y\o kid test drive a saleen??? anywho....im bored and thought id post it...so who can call BU11SH1T on this?

 

hmm, Iv already seen two charcol 05' Saleens in Huntington Beach on the streets.

 

don't know about this, but Cali does penalize alot!
Was'nt Saleen in some hot water with Ford or something.
If not, that sales guy is one person I don't want to deal with!!

HAHAHA. Funny you should bring this topic up. Go to Santa Margarita Ford and look at every one of their 05 saleens.

big sticker- "THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT COMPLY WITH CA EMISSIONS LAWS, AND CANNOT BE SOLD".

I think a batch of 05 saleens were sold, and then it was later discovered they weren't emissions compliant.


I hate CA emissions. so lame. We should just be like Texas with no emission laws. Make a big fan to blow the smog down to Mexico. Who cares about their air.

One of the car mags did a test on the Saleen vs the GT. Turns out the Saleen just barely edged out the GT on accelleration, but then they discovered that it was running rich and not emissions compliant.

April's R&T did a test of 6 ponies and the stock GT edged the Saleen. What with new gears, pulleys and Predator flash, plus the new rims, I'm hoping to take names and kick butt (all in Mustang friendship, of course).

 

They could be sold to people taking them out of CA though

 

You would think Saleen being from SoCal and all, that would be one of the first items on their agenda (passing Cali smog tests).

That would also explain why I haven't seen as many on ebay too.
