Got a tablet for VDay

As the title says, my g/f got me an Intuos3 for VDay. Now I gotta learn how to use it. Seems pretty cool so far. I've been wanting one, but hadn't bought one because I didn't know what I'd do with. Now I've gotta look for something to do. I'm not the best freehand drawer. Guess I need to get a bit better.

Your post is what got me interested... here's something I worked on last night... I'm just working on top of a photo, as I said, not much of a freehander...

it's funny mine came with a mouse like that and I never once used it...I'm not even sure where it is now
Great work so far..you will never want to draw with a mouse again once you get used to it.

Thanks guys. No, I definitely will never use the mouse. I'll stick to my intellimouse explorer. But the pen and tablet are pretty cool so far.

Congrats on the tablet, that's the one what I have too.

Now on the pen vs. mouse thing, I must be the weird one as I like to use both.
Often I'll have both in my hand, swapping around between them.
It may be different for me as I work with vectors and mostly use the b-spline tool.
I haven't really tried much bit-map "brush" painting like I think most of you use to create images.
That could make a difference.
