Ok, I`m north bound on I-25 north of Casper Wyo. and after the white out "blinding snow storm" in the morning north of Cheyenne, things are pretty boring. As a make the rise its probably 10 miles to the horizon. And the thought hits me, a chance to see what this baby will do! The southbound lanes are empty and maybe a couple miles up is a 5 ton truck and an RV. I massage into the gas and when I pass the 2 in front of me I`m doing 110 mph. This stretch of road is smooth and you don`t even feel it. Still working the pedal though not all the way yet, I make the next rise and in the distance is a black and white on the shoulder. YIKES, into the brakes at 120mph to slow this mother down and to my releif its a broken down old plymouth tank. My heart pounding from the suspense of getting caught, I`m back down to 75 and picking up the cruise control, when southbound here`s a real Wyo Hiway Patrol. WOW ! somebody loves me ! So hitting 120 and still going I`m going to be satisfied for now, and think real hard before I try this again. I would like to know top end.

The speedometer only goes to 120 and I though it was governed at about 112?

yup... goverened at 112-115, depending on who ya ask. Ford did this because of the speed rating of the stock BFG tires. It can be removed with an X-cal or Predator tune.

However, the pony package has the same Pirelli's as the GT, eh? I wonder if Ford upped the speed limiter.

I HIGHLY Doubt that. This would cause too many variables going down the assembly line. It's more efficient to throw a V6 motor with the standard computer tune in there rather then having an extra variable such as bumping the governor up a bit for different tires on the pretty much same V6 Mustang. Today's assembly lines are built for efficiency.

I checked the calibration against my GPS.(My GPS is very accurate to speeds over 400MPH). My GT reads about 2MPH high at highway speeds.
If his reads even higher that could explain it easily at that speed.

All I can say is what I saw on the gauges. This car is bone stock ! Would I feel anything with the limiter enacted ? This is a Canada car with a 125mph or 200k speedo. As I`ve said before the pony package is a real value! I was tearing up I-90 through Montana and Idaho yesterday, the mountain pass east of Butte going west would make anybody wet their pants at 75mph and I got the passing lane all the way to the top on cruise control, this thing ROCKS !

I agree. The pony pkg. is the best/cheapest way to get handling out of a stock V6. I had considered buying a V6 with the pony pkg. at first, but when I realized that I had to sell one of my cars to buy the Stang (space problem) I took the sale money and bought the V8. I have just noticed on my build sheet that the speed limitier has been disabled at the factory. Take notice pony package owners and or Canadian cars !
