What top 10 things to do to up-grade ?
I just got a 2005 v6 and really want to start to hook it up. I want to know the best place to start ,where i will get the most bang for my buck and so on. Thanks for the response!I WANT TO PUT A LITTLE $$$ AT A TIME IN IT SOMETIMES MORE $ THAN OTHER DEPENDS ON WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT WILL DO. THE BOTTOM LINE IS I WANT IT TO GO FASTER AND HAVE BETTER TAKE OFF SPEED , TORQUE.

I'm just wondering. Did that 5k make your V6 as fast as a stock GT? No. That's a good chunk of change to spend on mods. Why did you not just buy the GT to begin with with? Not saying that you should have, but I'm interested to see why you spent that much cash and are still not as fast as a stock GT. Depending on what you paid for your sixer, you probably could have gotten into a GT for an extra 5k. Perhaps you didn't want to, and that's totally cool. I'm just wondering.

As I have never lost at the track to a stock gt,of any year, i'll leave that answer to you. I've only see 2 gt's at my track run 13.9 or better. lots of folks do run quicker, but they are not at my track.
My efforts are to build a 13.xx v6 bolt on, and I'm pretty close to what I want with a daily driver.
I also paid 15k for my car, used with 13k miles on it, the 5k spent includes all mods, interior and exterior, not just the motor and suspension, and that is less than a GT. So perhaps I should of said, copy my mods, you will spend xxxx amount.
There is also the challenge of building a 13.xx v6 daily driver, and sharing the results of various evaluations of bolt on's and tuners. I'm here to share with you, i'm not boasting, just relaying my experiences.

That's cool. Thanks for the reply. I gues if you only paid 15k for your stang then you have a pretty fast car for a 20k invetsment. Are you gonna stick to bolt-ons or will you eventually do forced induction of some sort. For me, I loved modding my V6, but I knew I wanted to get it supercharged after my warranty is up so I opted to switch to the GT. Cool car though! Thanks for the info.

2. CAI - All of 'em dyno within a whp or two of each other, so they're all good. I'm cheap so I went with a $70 AEM clone off eBay, had it for 8 months, love it to death. You can usually get a tuner/CAI package for a good price, though.
3. Replace that muffler! The stock V6 muffler is a cork, it's just awful. A GT takeoff muffler is cheap and seems to be good for around 10rwhp, and a cooler sound to boot.
4. Trac-Lok <-- you need this. Seriously. 3.73 gears are good to throw in too while you're at it.
VMP Tuning sells a CAI/tuner/GT axleback package for $599 shipped: http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...d=200&parent=0 You can install it all yourself in about two hours in your driveway.
And you can get a Ford Trac-Lok and Ford Racing 3.73 gears for about $200 each. Install at dealership should be about 5 hours, tops.
This'll give you a car that is just plain a blast to drive, far better than stock. After that, it's time to start saving for a turbo/supercharger! I also understand that with a nitrous tune, these things will take a 100 shot without blinking an eye, but I have no first-hand N2O experience.

I stuck with basic K&N CAI & a Bama SCT tuner that can all be removed and not mess any warrenty stuff. & I still have ton's of fun if I spend a lot more it'll be a Shelby or a KR
