V8 drop or Supercharger

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere on here but I'm new here and a little lost in the woods

I've got an 07 pony package, bought the V6 with more of an eye towards cosmetics and insurance rates, now I've got my dream car, I just want a little more bite

so I ask yall, from someone who knows next to nothing about either process. which would be the smartest route to go, sell my low mileage engine for a V8 and drop it, or install a supercharger?

anyone? anything?

For a V8 you need engine, tranny, A/C setup is different, ECM, exhaust, driveshaft, gauge cluster, etc, etc ..... I could see doing it if you had an entire wrecked GT to swap from ... but peice mealing it together is going to be expensive ...

Also .. not sure about inspections and emission checks. In my County in Georgia ... they scan the barcode to the get info about the car (year, make, model, # of cylinders, type of transmission) and then hook it up to their scanner ... what happens if their system find a V8 instead of a V6 ... or simply reports an error. You fail emissions and can't register you car ...

Would you need to get the car reregistered as a V8? What what hassles will that cause?

You can easily hit the 350+ HP at the rearwheel with the V6. A few are doing the V8 swap (4.6 or 5.4). You don't need the cluster and part of the AC setup is the same. +1 on it not being cheap. FI for the V6 is going to cost you around 3k-5k. You could probably get the swap done for around 7k - 10k. Depending on what you paid for your car and what you owe trading it in may be a better option. If I went V8 though the whipple wouldn't be too far behind

The Speedo and Tach are different on the GT ... why wouldn't you need a new Cluster?

How much did you guys have to pay for your X-chargers? Did you install them yourself and if so, how hard was it?

Supercharge it, the swap will probably be more expensive...and having a supercharged V6 will be somewhat unique, which is a quality I love in cars

You can cancel the extended warranty .. and get your money backed for the unused portion.
