I'm not holding my breath for major gains on this one, but who knows. What do you all think?

I'm gonna call them, I read somewhere that the shaker hood for the GT only generated a gain of 3HP, so this is probably more of a looks upgrade. Not sure though, so we need to get some info from Fang.

I have the CDC shaker and the only changes I could notice without a dyno are a different engine sound (more "burble") and a slight improvement in gas mileage.
However, I LOVE the way the car looks with the shaker!

Here is the email I got from them just now:
Hi Todd,
We have not performed any performance gain numbers on it. We suspect the gain will not be significant. There will be more air available to the factory filter. But with out a computer tune probably won't be that noticeable. We built the functional box so guys could have a functional scoop without voiding any warranties.
Hope this helps. Any thing else I can help you with just let me know.

This hood would look pretty slick on the new Mustang.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is difficult to measure HP gains from ram-air style hoods.
Apparently it makes a big differance over 55mph because of the increased airflow (ram-air effect?), which does not get shown on the dyno for obvious reasons.
Correct me if I am wrong...

This is quite interesting!
New Products
The V6 Shaker system is complete and ready to be shipped! This is the first V6 Mustang from Fang to receive the Shaker hood, scoop and also our functioning ram air box. This car is currently for sale at Campbell Ford in Niles, Michigan. Ask for Ron Ward at Campell Ford for details.
This is interesting.. This is the first V6 Shaker system.. Thats odd! Could it be that we are all not at all that dillusional afterall?
Good find Rygen!

I concur, for me, the calif. dream hood stays planted on my mod list. But as MSP points out, this does show that for the first time, there seems to be a strong aftermarket for the V6 stang. Our choices seem to increase every day.

I've been waiting for one of these to come out for a while now. It looks cool, but I wonder how much it will be without a hood from Fang also? How hard would it be to adapt it to use a CAI with it?

I think this is solid proof that the 05 V6's are pretty much considered a just and appreciated replacement for the old 5.0's... This would be when comparing a stock 5.0 up to 400HP.. Maybe alittle more when you consider all forged internals...
But with out a doubt, this Shaker system represents the first aftermarket mod, which does place and consider the V6 as a most worthy car to own...
I feel like we as first adopters truley are unique individuals.. It was our forethought and determination which has brought this new Mustang to the forefont of the truley bargin basement performance Mustangs.. Not that we paid that much less than a GT mind you.. $4000 to as little as a $1000 dollar difference when buying on some type of plan, or from a dealer who is not greedy...
But I look at this particular mod as our final justification for demanding respect for our lil pony's... Sure, when modded, mod for mod they cant compete with the Mighty GT.. However it does appear to me that 400HP on stock internals is alot more than even a 428 Cobra Jet put out back in its hay day..
http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/67-68/68/
335 HP at the crank is what the mighty 428 Cobra Jet put out.. Yes, with the proper mods, it could have done alot more.. But I think its saying alot when you can take a bone stock SOHC 4.0, and add a power-adder, and beat a 428 CJ Mustang which is stock, that today would cost you no less than $100,000...
By what standards are we being compared to? What mighty benchmark must we fulfill before people start to realize that the 2005 V6 Mustangs are truley LX's to the bone..
Its time that the hard core V8, close minded individuals start to realize that they should be proud to have us as their smaller siblings..
Again I must ask the question.. By what standard are we being compared?

I just wanted to add, that the Shaker system is a very nice jesture from the company who created it.. However based on the price, I will discourage any 2005 V6 owner from ever considering it..
We really appreciate you taking the time to make this extraordinary product for us.. We just can not in good faith justify the price.. You are trying to take advantage of us.. LOL!! I cant believe this!! :nono:
