v6 power thresholds for power adders

i know this is the gt forum,, but seems like hardly anyone posts over in th v6 forum.



what is generally considered to be the "safe" hp threshold for the 4.0l V6?

what is teh weak link/ is it the con rods? like in the 4.6?

- chiptuning (Xcal/Predator)
- new driveshaft
- new CAI
- new exhaust/muffler

Then I would stop, as you just asked for the safe hp increases.

If you ask for 'un-safe' increases, there is a lot more you can do.

Typically, a safe tune with anything under 12 or 11 psi is good to go for these cars. If you want to go nuts with the car, you'll need pistons and rods.
