I was sitting back and debating what items specifically for the V6 I want on my car, but that aren't available yet (and if I'm wrong on any of these, jump in and let me know)

1) A strut tower brace that fits the V6
Never owned a 'stang without one (even my '67 tho' it was called an export brace and a Monte Carlo bar combo back in the day), don't want to break tradition

2) Though it may conflict with #1, Midwest's intake cover (soon...please...)

3) A Shaker type hood (yeah, I know this would be tight, as the 4.0 is closer to the hood than the 4.6, but hopefully there's a way) I just like the look

4) A supercharger kit (eventually). By the time I'm ready, I'm sure several will be on the market, so I'm not sweating this one much

5) A fairly priced exhaust kit to add duals that bolts on and does not include mufflers and runs the pipes as far as the stock GT muffler attachment points (in stainless as long as I'm wishing) It'd sure be nice to be able to easily try parts like these on the 6: Hooker V8 muffler thread (check the clips, that's by far the sweetest music I've heard a GT playing so far)

Feel free to add your own "want" list.

1) the stock wheels in a 17" (and yes, I've seen the chrome replicas)
2) underdrive pulleys (think some are on their way)

I'll add more when it comes to me

Zodiac, accroding to powerhouse411 the gains of the jba headers over the stock manifolds were minimal, so maybe this will be something to do after the 300hp mark.

Oh sweet ****! underdrive pulley.... Wonder how much that is going to cost. i want i want. 12.3hp and 16.2 ft/lb of torque, plus an increase in mileage. Isnt that 2x the gain the gt's are seeing? wonder if its inflated or somin

K Im just going to note this. rpmoutlet's site is very unorganized. I cant speak to their products, or reliability, but they have MANY MANY GT parts listed as available for the v6 when they are not.. even some that are not clearly labeled. The prime example being the hurst shifter, and gears which are clearly labeled as for an 8.8" rear end, but I dont beleve as GT. Either way, they are linked to under the 05v6 page.

Concerning the UD pullies. I firsted noticed these marked as "comming soon" a week or so ago. For a few days, the picture advertised as 'Give your truck...' it even showed the dynograph of a truck. I believe it was a Dodge? The dyno numbers were the same, I believe. Secondly, the picture matched a mustang, and the information about it was different. Im not drawing conclusions to this, just pointing it out. It really makes me wonder.

For the Shifter it does say for 4.0 V6, but the gears they have aren't for our car's. For some reason they only offer the V8 8.8" ones, and list them in the V6 section.

At least we all know we can get them here

Yup, you're right. I ordered a T-lok from there earlier on this week actually. Im just pointing out that alot of the site is incorrect. I dont know how much I trust, or what to expect, regarding the UD pullies.

Has anyone ordered from them, and is this the only place that shows UD Pulleys for us?

According to FRPP, the Hurst shifter is for the GT only. I know this sucks, but they have different trannies so it makes sense. Hurst might offer a separate shifter for the V6. I don't think JBA headers will do much for you. The stock headers even look similar. I'm guessing 2-3 HP. About the pullies, this smells like bullpoo. There could be a chance. I noticed they underdrive the power steering, alternator, water pump and crank. Most GT pullies only under drive the water pump and balancer. I still don't see more than 10 HP from pullies. That Super Six Motorsports article scared me about blowers. Said the head gasket won't take boost. Did you folks see the FRPP GT CAI? I'm guessing the V6 CAI will basically be the same. Looks ok, especially if it doesn't require a tune.

That blows about the shifter. I just decided to email them to be 100% sure. I also just asked if they planned one for us.

I would get headers mainly for the sound, but they should give a decent small power gain, especially along with a CAI & tune. You'd definately get somewhere.

The pullies claim a 20% underdrive, so I don't think those figures are off by much. With 5-10 hp throughout the curve, I'd be satisfied.

I can't wait to see our CAI that Ford Racing will be out with shortly, I really like the way the GT's looks as well.

Well, looking forward to seeing more mod ideas

1. AUX adapter for shaker
2. T-Lok
3. Premium style rims in 17x8, silver finish, not chrome (Verde makes them in 17x9)
4. 255/50/17 tires for said rims
5. Front strut tower bar
6. Headers if they provide some gain.

Supersixmotorsports warns about CAI's at the bottom of that article and that they would require a tune on the engine. Does this make anybody else question whether the "doesn't require a tune!" thing is legit? Does it throw off the air/fuel ratio or something?

From what I have read, the car tends to run lean with a new CAI. C & L says their CAI without a tune will lean out a GTs A/F ratio to 14 to 1. I read a K & N leaned out about .5 without a tune. I guess the question is, what is a safe A/F ratio and what is marketing? C & L wants you to get a tune so they can advertise 27+ HP.
