Hey guys I was wondering has any hear or does anyone have gutted cats. I just order the true dual pypes system from American muscle and wanted to know if it would sound good if I gutted my cats to go alone with the dual exhaust. And also do I have to get my car retuned to go alone with the cold air intake

 

The tune is what ups your power levels. A cai doesn't do anything without a tune. And I gutted my cats. Now it rattles and sounds crappy. Don't gut your cats unless you can get all the honeycomb stuff out. What year is your car.and if your gutting cats you NEED to turn off rear o2 sensors or a cel will go on. So you need a tuner first before anything else.

 

Its a 05 v6 and i have the c&l cold and tuner. I've been hearing a rattling nosie coming from under the car when i turn it on and take off but the other day the nosie went away and i saw smoke. Now the car doesn't take off like it use to and it sound like a Honda mix with a stang. A guy said its my cats that's why I'm asking about gutting them

 

It sounds like something is blocking air from being pushed out

 

K. Does the exhaust smell like sulfur or funny in any way. What kind of mileage are you at and do you add and crap to your fuel. Fuel additives and some oils can lead to clogged cats. Is there a cel. If the cats were shot you would get a cel.

 

Lol hell ya i add alot of gas n additives. And im at 110000 i believe but there's no smell of any kind. Do u think gutting the cats is ok until i get new ones?
