I was wondering if you guys could show me what the best cold air intake is for the 2005 V6. I am looking to combine it with most likely the SCT, but the only one I have seen so far is the Muscular Mustang Racing 2005 V6 Annihilator Intake Kit, which I saw over at www.v6mustangstuff.com. Is this the only option for the V6, or do you all have any other recomendations?
Thanks for the Help
Brian

So with just the MMR CAI alone I should expect around 10-15 HP, but if I combine it with the SCT Xcalibrator I should be getting around 20-25? Does this sound about right? Do you guys think I should wait until another CAI comes out for the V6, or should I go with this one?

Thanks
Brian

Well, perhaps. Each car takes to mods differently.. Say, you arent guaranteed going to get 15 hp out of a CAI. You could get 10, 5, or even 2. MMR advertises a 8-15 hp gain without a tune. So with a tune, if your car is "normal" I would hope for a total gain of around 20 hp. I have no idea when any other company may be producing other CAIs, and people using MMR on their GTs havent complained about them that I know of, so they seem pretty sound. Ill probably be buying this one as soon as I get the money for it.

I would say cai with a tune is probably going to account for at least 15rwhp, up to maybe 25 if you are lucky. The one thing you will notice is throttle response and the computer will no longer back off the throttle automatically when approaching redline. So even though you are only going to gain 15-25 horsepower, your torque curve will improve a lot more, making it so your greatest gain (not peak gain) might be upwards of 30hp and 35 ft/lb tq

Does it depend on the dealership or is the CAI okay with all Ford Warranties? I wan to add some mods. but I do not want to void my factory war. Please advise

I think it could and probably would voice the mass air flow sensor part of the warranty. As far as anything else, i really doubt it, unless they can prove the fault that occurs is related to the installation and or use of the CAI
