I see, does the GM employee price not apply to the Cobalt SS. I just went to their site and assumed it could be had for that.
I don't care for that type of car anyway.

Yeah, but you could always strap a 454 into one then watch it go! Well, ok, maybe not hehe. I wonder what kind of mods on our part its going to take to meet & beat that mid 14 sec time? Shouldnt take too much... I bet you could do it with exhaust, intake, tune, and some sticky tires... Yeah, I have a craving to beat everything on the road even remotely in the same class.. Im already dreaming about beating those new Si's someone was talking about ^.^ Yup. Im obsessed.

Go to the strip, take the drive belt off (a favorite of those heavy fbody cars) and you can probably pull that time.
Im sure with just headers, cai, and a tune you can be at that time. Remove the rear seat to shed weight, and no point in losing the a/c, because you still have to route the belt either around it, or an idler pulley.
If you could shed 100 lbs, and gain 45hp, you should have no problem running in the mid 14's with a manual trans.

My 2 subs sitting my backseat weigh close to 150 lbs, with a pretty heavy amp in the trunk (20-30lbs?).. its like always having a 2nd person in there. I cant imagine what it would feel like if I took those out along with the backseat. I wonder how much of a difference it would actually make.

But.. I love my loud booming noise! Ya know, there's only been one time in 7 months of owning this car I havent enjoyed driving it.. and it was definitely with a hangover. Between my audio system and the exhaust, I didnt think I was ever going to make it home the next morning.

Lets see
CAI, Headers, custom duals, tune, tlok, 3.73 or 4.10 gears, and some sticky wider tires or at least some 255's
Do they make underdrive pullies for our V6's, I probably wouldn't do them since mine is a daily driver.
But with all that mid 14's should be easy to average no? even without shedding weight.

Ive seen 2 guys now run 14.8s with nothing but dual exhaust mods over on Stangnet based on the GTech times... so yeah. This should be possible. With that full set up Id hope for low 14s.

We know the K&N adds about 8, now with a tune would it add an additional 15-20, or would it add 7-12 to equal 15-20?

I've always wondered that because dont other CAIs claim 15-20, but with a tune. And then the tuners claim 15-20 as well.

I would say with a CAI and tune on the v6, 20 is hopeful for peak gain, but under the curve you may see more gains.
