if i needed a core id just go on ebay and buy one for $250
$250 for blower, throttle body, crank pulley and belt? $250 sounds like a great deal for all for that stuff. This does not include the time, effort, and availability of products. I would pay a little more for convienency. So that's $3250+ for new M90 kit at New AgeTuning. Sounds a little closer to $4000 than $1400.

Im sure they will constantly be on ebay if i ever needed one.
so lets say $300 for blower and TB, $60 at most for belt, and im sure ic ould find a crank pulley at a pick and pull yard. $400 +1700 = $2100

I dont see where you think $4000 comes close.

The key concept here is rebuilt versus new blower kits. So $2100 for rebuilt kit or closer to $4000 for new blower kit. Sounds good to me. If you want to argue the prices on new kits, especially from Explorer Express, we'll just have to disagree on our estimates. Ultimately they are our opinions. I did notice 4 used blowers are for sale on Ebay. One of them for $125, so you never know. All of my estimates are for new blower kits. You claimed earlier thereare new M-90 blowers for $1,400. I still have not found a $1,400 new M-90 or MP-90 blower. I sure there's a "Crazy Joe's going out of business sale" somewhere, but otherwise most consumers are going to pay closer to $3,000 just for a new blower and more for a complete kit.

The blowers used by Explorer Express aren't the Eaton blowers but rather the Magnuson Type blowers, same design different company. Either way the total amount isnt just for a blower but rather an entire installed kit with injectors, air intake, intake manifold and TUNING.

Now, before this conversation goes any further " THE SUPERCOUPE BLOWER WILL NOT BOLT DIRECTLY TO YOUR 4.0 IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM" You'll have to excuse the importance of this but being that I've been in the s/c 4.0 business for more then 10 years I've had that one question asked of me more times then you can shake a stick at. You would have to make your own custom lower intake manifold.

Now, there again I don't know anything specific about the Mustang kits but since I do the tuning for the Ranger and Explorer kits I can say that everything down to the MAF and injectors come with this kit so it will be an afternoon bolt on deal and drive away happy.

For the HP ratings, on the SOHC with a M62 I've made 260rwhp, on a 4.0 with a M112 I've made 293rwhp so I'd figure somewhere in the mist of 270-285rwhp with a M90 and most stock GT's barely make 265rwhp without any bolt ons.

Thanks Doug.

Its good to hear from someone with some experience. Did you get ahold of the Vaneks? I think Magnuson owns Eaton. Did you run 6 or 8 PSI to get those numbers? I'm looking at 6 PSI with the octane out West. I think the 05 Mustang can beat the Rangers numbers. The exhaust side looks better. The exhaust mainfolds are different and the pipes look straighter. What do you think?

Doug, thats the price WITH installation? that would make a lot more sense to me.

About the m112, thats the kit i would love to see, because theoretically you could put a kenne bell 2.2 or 2.4 on there correct?

Anyone know where our trannies and 7.5 rearends give out at. 270 rwhp doesnt seem like it'd make any harm, I believe it was somehwere above 300 rwhp were its safe for every single stock componont.
So if someone can give me a quick refresher?

Oh and I just thought of a good thing, those of you who have 2.5" duals with headers (or even without) will greatly benefit from a SC, because of the better volumetric efficiency.
I know If I can swing a SC, duals at 2.5 will no longer be a waste, rather a gain.

The 7.5 did some time behind the old 5.0 V8 and should take 300 rwhp. Drag radials will kill it faster than the blower. I had a T-5 in my Mustang GT, its rated for 300lbs of torque. It had a glass third gear back in the day, Ford has fixed it since then. Doug knows the 4.0L better than anybody, I am guessing it will take 300 HP.

I think you're right. Either a 3" single or a 2.5" dual sounds like a winner. I think the stock exhaust manifolds can handle 300 HP, but headers start to sound good.

Doug,

Would you recommend headers at this point?

If anyone is interested, the prices at Explorer Express do not include labor costs.

Ordering Info:

http://www.explorerexpress.com/orderinfo.html

Price List:

http://www.explorerexpress.com/catal...ercharger.html

As always, just something to work from.

I'm guessing 6-8 hours to install a kit. Maybe $400-500 for the install, whatever for the tune.

Our rear end is rated at 300hp, but Ive seen them take much more safely. Its the off-the-line launches that kill more than anything. Not sure on the tranny.. I expect its similar.

My source comfirmed the target price is 3,999 without labor. Labor should take 4 hours. The blower is a new Magnuson MP-90.

Two pictures smuggled out of the factory. The attack dogs almost caught me. I can't post them. If you're curious I'll e-mail them.

The supercharger itself is really not the expensive part. It's all the brackets, pullies, adaptors, sleeves, plumbing, wiring, etc. that run up the cost. It takes a lot of R&D to develop and manufacture all those components, and it's not the kind of stuff an average shadetree mechanic could put together themselves. You can bet if someone could make a good supercharger kit for 2100 bucks they would do it because they would completely corner the market. Unfortunately 4k is more the norm. I'd do it in a heartbeat for 2k, but at 4k the logical side of my brain kicks in and overrides the emotional side

I've two pictures, but the site won't let me attach .jpgs. If you can think of a work around for posting, let me know. If not, I can shoot you a e-mail. Please call me Greg. The blower itself looks sweet.

I dunno about getting that much power, I would hate to be held back knowing something could break sometime. Unless I get serious about beefing up my drivetrain, I'll stick with boltons for now.
