First let me give a small amount of history on me and the Mustang. I am 47, male big time hot rod lover, but never owned a Mustang before. I was not even in the market for one, but the style and price "forced" me to buy one. I bought Tourch Red V6 with IUP Anti lock/ trcation controll and the cool alarm system. My plan is to drive it everyday, not a garage queen. I wanted a couple things that Ford would not let me have when I ordered the car. 1st was the Bullitt wheels, 2nd was the seats with the running horses and 3rd was the fog lights. YES I KNOW THAT I COULD HAVE GOT THEM ALL ON A GT. I wanted gas mileage and to save 5 grand so I bought the V6. Man what a cool car. Fast smooth and looks great. I bought a set of Bullitt wheels off E-BAY, complete with tires that were taken off a new car. Paid 600.00 and then sold the V6 wheels for 600.00, so this mod cost me nothing. I then bought the running horse interior kit off E-BAY, also new take off stuff. This I paid 55.00 for and decided to install last Sunday afternoon. It took me 5 hours and I guess that only 1 out of a hunded people would even notice, but I like it. The seat covers just clip on, but the removal of the old ones and the head rest parts are a pain. I then added the right muffler from a GT, also take off from a new GT. This came from E-BAY for 45.00 for the pair. I will install the other one and make it dual exhaust soon, but for now I only have the one on there. It gives you the nice stainless tip, a cool exhaust tone and picked up 1-2 MPG. I have installed the fog lights in the grill, that are on another post here. They look great and are smaller than the GT ones. I think that it is a good sytle for the v6 to be smaller than the V8. I then added (and this is the part that will make a few of you mad) GT emblems on my fenders. I installed them low, just above the ridge in the fender at the bottom. About 6" lower than a "real" GT. I think they look better there and a real GT owner , can look at them and know the diferance anyway. My future plans for the car ..........1 black out area between tail lights......2 drive it.
Total price for all changes so far .....Interior seat changes 55.00......mufflers 45.00
...Fog lights 20.00.....GT emblems 20.00....wheels Zero. Mark

I agree with you about the wheels and exhaust, excellent mods. Good job of keeping the cost down on the interior stuff too, interiors can be expensive to mod. I wanted the bullet wheels also but the dealer wouldn't do a trade with the other GT model in the showroom, had to go with the polished ones.

As for the GT badges, that's something I wouldn't have done, but it's your car so it's your choice. As long as you're happy with it that's all that matters.

Well done! I am envious. I thought I'd done well by trading in my stock skinny tires for a credit toward new 235/60 x 16's, and ending up paying about twenty bucks per tire. But your deal with the Bullitt's was much better. I never thought of that--didn't occur to me that anyone would actually buy the stock V6 wheels and tires, so it just shows to go ya. (Assume you also sold them on e-bay, right? I'm gonna have to pay more attention to that site, obviously there are deals to be had.)
How does the car sound with the GT muffler?

I thought about getting the interior off of e-bay that you found as well but the place I found it is charging $100.00!
Its amazing that you were able to get the bullits' for 600 and then sell yours for 600 as well, how many miles were on them when you sold them?
I really think you are doing great mods to you car!

The stock wheels were sold local. A guy is building a 1965 Fastback and he wanted that style. He is doing some real modifications to the front and rear, so he said he can make them work. They had 140 miles on them when I sold them. The GT muffler is real cool. It is louder, but inside the car, you can not tell much. It does not sound like the Honda with the soup can muffler. I have no way to make a sound clip or I would do that. It is an easy bolt on and the stainless tip looks fantastic. Thanks Mark

I understand your thoughts on the GT badges. I thought about it for a while before I decided to do it. I am not wanting to fool anyone, I just liked the badges. I was thinking about finding an emblem that said V6 to put there also, so it would say GTV6 , but I do not want to add junk all over the car. Remember I am not a teen...HA HA. But thanks for the kind words. Mark

I have seen the interior for 125 now also. Look for a seller called Cascotec selling 2005 Mustang wheels and mufflers etc. There is a link on his auctions to his web site. Call Mike there and see if you can make a deal. He told me he is selling them for 80.00 now and will only sell for less if you buy a bunch of other stuff from him. I was able to get this stuff with out paying shipping, because I picked them up. Let me know if I can help. I can send pictures if you want.

Can you tell me if the bullits wheels off the GT model fit right onto your new V-6? Do you use the lugs from your original wheels or do you have to use the bullit lug nuts only. I also want to install a factory ford GT grille in my V-6, is this a simple bolt in that replaces the stock V-6 version. Any help you can give me would be apprieciated....Kip

The wheels are a bolt on, no problems at all. I even checked to make sure they did not change the speedometer reading and it is the same. Lug nuts work from the V6 car. The fog lights I put in are in the stock V6 grill. You can find info on this bu searching dynaflash and see where I ask some questions and how I did it. There is also a discussion on the GT grill. It seems to have a lot of problems with the change over. It is bigger and must be made to fit. I did not like all the problems with that, but am not saying it is a bad deal, I just did not go that way. Let me know if I can help. Mark

Sounds like it's coming nicely, need to post some pictures. The GT badges though...come on now...what about something like the classic styling tri-bar pony badges or a 4.0 badge or something along those lines???

I thought that might stirr up some people. I do like the tri-bar pony emblem, never know I may change it. I do not want to take away from anyone that spent the money to have the real thing. Just making mine the way I want it. I will try to figure out how to post some pictures, but have had no luck so far. mark

Wired with a relay to cut off fog lights with the parking lights.
