Using a take-off GT rear in a V6??

Hey guys, here's a question, what's involved in using a take-off 8.8" rear end($600 plus shipping) with 31 spline axles and just bolting it in a V6?? Seems like it would be a ton easier then a T-loc and staying with the 7.5. And are the driveshaft yokes compatible if you know?

I believe you have to get an adapter to have the driveshaft fit. A lot of V6 guys have done it. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Excellent! I thought that it made much more sense then upgrading the 7.5 for at least the same as swapping it to a unit that is just plain better in every way.

Would that be compatible with an aluminum driveshaft?

Also what's the advantages of having a GT takeoff rear end?

Here's a big advantage...

Less time and effort for your shop to do the swap, pretty much anyone can do it. So it ends up being cheaper in the long run. No worries with shims, tolerances, friction modifiers, axle whine you name it.

Larger rear end means more HP you can mod your engine to.

Slightly better weight distribution. The slightly heavier GT axle narrows the gap toward 50/50 weight distribution.

It's a great upgrade for the V6.

Oh, almost forgot. You can paint the bare metal parts before it gets installed so you don't have that crusty rust look in a few years.
