Don't forget to smack around the CS6's when you see them... they stuck the 8.8 in them too! LOL!

LOL. Question, was the trutrac available when Mike was testing his 6 on the 150HP shot? Did he have a girdle and panhard relocation bracket? Just curious on all the variables involved.

Nope!! Nope!! And Nope!! None were available at the time he started his research!

Thats a good read RaginStormlocke!! Nice job... No doubt, I will have my work cut out for me.. We will have to see how this goes... For sure any 2005 V6 Mustang with Powerhouse411's turbo setup is going to be deadly... They will most likley present me with the biggest hurdles to overcome.. I am willing to try my best atleast to overcome whatever setbacks I have been given based on the laws of physics... Dont make any final decisions until you atleast give me a chance.. LOL!! I knew Mike Bowen's setup would be a problem.. I chose to confront it head on...

I aint backin down!! Its not like I have to make 3 or 4 passes a month down the quarter mile... So I am not worried about engine reliability.. It'll hold up...

Man, this summer is going to be unbelievable for sure... I would love for us all to be able to hook up someday all together at a track and support each other... We gotta somehow make this happen...

Yep, on this one I have to wait and see the dust settle before I make a purchase. As for meeting up, I think we need to pick a track that is near some hotels and it would be cool to pick a location that is near some cool performance shops. LOL. We could go down to supersix and pit our blown 6's against thier stroker on n20. LOL.

Ok, I was wondering if this was the case. Sooo, we may want to take it easy on the punches since he was working with what was available. He is one of the pioneers of the 4.0 and he was testing it at quite an accelerated rate giving us valuable information.

Now as far as friendly competition, go for it!!!! Show'em the SC will beat his TC, in the end, it's all about the best solution to meet your needs. Or for us, who can get the best 1/4 mile time.

Just my two cents.

The Powerhouse Turbo at 12 psi looks like/is the king of all systems at the outrageous 400RWHP WOW!!! This is the go fast setup for all out performance and person seeking the fastest setup out of all systems out today. I didn't think he was going to release a 12 psi system for the 4.0. The question that begs to be answered is this for a stock 4.0 or for a rebuilt bottom end? The other question is would you have the option to run 104 octane for track/street and then have also the option to run 93 octane for the street via the spring adjustment to turn down the boost? if yes this would be sweeeeeeet !!! I would think that would be the case.

Rygn what do you know (my questions) or think?
Like I said earlier, there will be a 6PSI non-intercooled version and a 9PSI intercooled version with a screw adjustment to take it to 12PSI. So yes, you can run it on pump gas every day at 9PSI and then bump it up to 12PSI for the track. Mike also said that the main reason he used race gas was for purity. He was concerned about pump gas not being clean enough. The octane rating wasn't the main concern IIRC.

Its all in good fun!! Mike Bowen has set the bar for us all, and somehow, someway we must meet or exceed the bar he has set...

At the time, he didnt have a choice but to use the 8.8.. I know that.. Its just fun challenging him because my dream is to to be able to run an 11.5 ET... If I can achieve that, I'm happy... I'll be happy with a 12.2 ET! LOL!!

I'll tell you what.. I love Powerhouse just as much as anybody, but dont discount Vortech's setup... I have Powerhouses V6 Mustang in my cross hairs, and am determined to punish him for using an 8.8 rear-end... Basically, his turbo setup is awsome, but he's going down for using an 8.8 rear-end on our V6's... Right now, his cars best is an 11.5 ET I believe.. Thats my target.. I wont stop until I can punish him for the use of that 8.8 rear-end.. Powerhous411's Single Turbo setup is on notice that MSP and Vortech are not going to sit back peacefully and let him dominate the V6 Mustang Class with an 8.8 rear-end... I'm taking that car down... LOL!!! I know Mike Bowen has alot of tricks up his sleeve, and I have pure admiration for him and what he has done for the 05 V6 community.. But I need to set him straight on the use of the 8.8.... It is more than likley that I will have to buy the detroit tru-trac to do it, but thats ok now...

No hard feelings Powerhouse411!! But your goin down my man!!
I know you are mostly kidding, hence the , but I really don't see the problem with the 8.8. I believe that Mike was most concerned about the engine, or interested to see how far he could push it. He left the block stock and beefed up everything else to take out those variables. You can be proud of the stock engine being able to handle all that power and thank Mike for being the one to have the guts to push it so hard.

Absolutley!!! I thank Mike Bowen for his commitment to our cause.. He has provided invaluable information, that without it most would have given up along time ago... He gave us the strength early on to be proud of our V6's... Many have considered trade ins for GT's, until Mike showed us a guiding light... Mike Bowen Rocks, in my book.. A true pioneer, that is loved and respected by all 05 V6 owners!!

But he's still going down!! LOL!! Just kidding!

But seriously, his 05 V6 research vehicle is a legitement target!

I like to mention a few things I thought I had read that PH was running in the 12.50’s and then hit the 11.90’s. I thought I read or for some other reason thought the 12psi boost@400RWHP on the was just for R&D not for stck trim. So when Rygn posted 400RWHP I was to say the least stunned. I was expecting 350+, 350-370HP but a solid 400HP whoa! I can’t stop thinking about it to tell you the truth.

We are talking very poss. beating a baseline SUPERCHARGE GT!! or stay door to door with other’s (PH@400RWHP] this is nuts!

Scrming
it is a stock 4.0... nothing was rebuilt
I knew from the previous older post I read he was running a stock long block but didn’t know after seeing Rygn post @12psi if strengthen the bottom end as of late to be able to run 12psi.

Scrming is Mike recommending to strengthen the lower end if you run the boost 12psi or is saying you can run 12psi on a stock block?
I think I remeber reading he hits max HP at 5300 RPM which is good for the bottom end.

I have another question for anybody, is running 9psi on S/C the same as running 9psi on a turbo & at their peak HP on the engines bottom end?
I believe it is but just want it cinfirmed by some others.

MSP
but don’t discount Vortech's setup...
MSP I can’t even comment on the Vortech system vs, a ProCharger, X-Charger or MP’s turbo’s yet because I haven’t seen any HP numbers or past history of a Vortech on a 4.0 on what it will put out confirmed.

MSP
Right now, his cars best is an 11.5 ET I believe.
The last I seen was 11.80’s or 90.s? If he ran 11.50’s wow I didn’t know that.

That was funny

I am not clear if you car is a mule for Vortech because you haven't confirmed or you are planning to purchase one I think its the former in any case congrats!

Turbo vs. Supercharger - Write up!!
This is a write up for a school paper from a guy on another forum I belong to. Kind of makes me think about going with a Turbo vs. the Supercharger as previously planned. Whats your guys take on this matter???
I am like 99.9 % sure that is a cut and paste, he didn’t write that paper because I read that during my research on the net months ago I will look if I have a link for it. I read half way though the people posting replies same old song and dance I have read in my research on other articles & forums.

Rygn I have read tons on this subject and have links the turbo vs. S/C it is a never ending debate, guys show how each are better than the other there is no sense in researching they both rock. The only thing we need to research is in our own opinion what system we want that fits are wants and needs.

Yes when I was posting it I remember reading it but wasn’t clear on it or who posted it also I didn’t know about the IIRC.

Gosh... that was way back last fall! LOL! I think the 12PSI was a lot of "At your own risk" kind of thing.. I don't remember much more than that... and of course the ride I got down Michigan Avenue! LOL! I'm still smiling over that one!!! LOL!

Scrming you're freaking lucky man Lido's.PHP, PH, MRT etc.

Tell me about the ride give us some details. Like was it from out of the hole? if so what RPM ?take me though the gear's in detail in your own words, was it more than once he got on it? was it from a roll? What ET was the running at the time of your ride ?and what was the boost set at?

Take us for a ride in a 400RWHP V6 Mustang let us live the ride through you share

Do happen to have any TQ numbers on PH turbo?

Thanks in advance

Snow Kit
OK check this out Snow Kit adds 15-20HP on a N/A engine and up to 80HP on a S/C engine, found this at Mustang forums.

Chemically Cool Your Colt
Pick up almost 80 hp with Snow Performance's water/methanol boost cooler

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine has a great installation/dyno article in the July '04 issue. The install was performed in New Jersey on a 10 second 5.0 Mustang featuring a 15psi T-Trim Vortech. Results were impressive with 493 HP made on pump gas, 549 HP on 116 octane race gas, and a whopping 575 + on pump gas with a Stage-2 Boost Cooler® using a 50/50 water/methanol mix!

Thanks go out to Andrew Sivori, Steve Baur and Evan Smith -- a great
http://www.snowperformance.net/default.asp

By Steve BaurSupercharging is fast becoming one of the most popular modifications to late-model Mustangs as 50-100 percent increases in horsepower and torque can be had without any other changes. One of the byproducts of supercharging or compressing air is an increased air charge temperature--and at mild boost levels, this is not much of an issue. For greedy gearheads who like to pump up the manifold pressure, the higher air temperatures can result in pre-ignition and detonation, unless ignition timing (and subsequently power) is reduced. To combat this, some blower companies offer cooling units that use an air-to-air or air-to-water heat exchanger to cool the incoming charge, thus allowing you to use nearly the same amount of timing.
Injecting a small amount of nitrous oxide to cool the intake charge is also an alternative, but nitrous oxide isn't cheap, nor is the high-octane race fuel that many turn to. Snow Performance of Woodland Park, Colorado, offers an alternative that increases power without deflating your pocket book. Methanol/water injection is a far more inexpensive option that allows you to safely increase ignition

Scrming this looks to be what Lido is doing, is this the exact same as Lidos setup? also check out the third link?

I'm still doing research, but check out this thread:

Not entirely accurate according to some, but good information none the less. Click on the thread to see the responses, here is the actual initial write up:

Good find!!! We definitely have to look at this option, because we need to be making 400 RWHP fast. Check out the new competition:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...58&#entry606258

Supposedly a 13 second challenger! My goal is to spank a 350Z, and then top it off spanking this new challenger with my 6 banger. We all need to be prepared for this.
