When the hood is open and car running you can hear a ticking sound not reall bad but noticable sound like a lifter tapping is this common for this motor.

yep very normal.
I was concerned, but I learned it was 2 things.
The ac compressor and the magnetic field in todays injecters being very noisy.

Try this: Turn off the A/C compressor and run the car for 5 - 10 minutes. You should realize the ticking sound has stopped. Turn on the A/C compressor and after your car interior drops to desired temperature - the 'ticking' will return as the compressor cycles. IMHO the ticking is only noticable @ idle or low speed manuevers (parking lot/garage parking, etc.). My '05 coupe does the same thing.
