I did a forum search and could not find anything on this topic so sorry if it has already been discussed

I know that the 05 GT comes with t-lok standard but was wondering if the 05 V6 with ABS/ traction control came with t-lok? I need to know this to see if I need t-lok or if it is akready on the car

i think it has always been that price although it might have been $10 dollars cheaper. That and 4.10s would be a cool upgrade!!

How much labor is involved in a t-lok install? Any cons to using a t-lok?
thanks!

It's silly not to have traction lok with 210 horsepower! Let Ford Know!

I agree 100% that the v6 needs a t-lok in the least. Id even go all the way to posi if I could. Its been pretty wet and rainy around here lately and every time I take a corner at 20 mph or more and try accelerating out of it at all Ive been having tired spin and moderate control loss. The narrow tires are part of the problem, but I can almost always feel that back right tire break loose.

The Ford 7.5" rear end has been around for a while now. Its been using for years in Broncos, Rangers and earlier Mustangs.

This site has a little info about the rearend and previous cars it's been used on:

The "Boss is Back" 5.0L 1982 GT came standard with a 7.5" Traction-Lok to handle it's wopping 157 HP @ 4200 / 240 ft-lbs @ 2400. Same torque figure as '05 V6 but 1100 RPM lower as would be expected with a V8 with a hot "Marine Cam" the sales literature bragged about at the time !!

It would sure be nice if they could make it part of a Sports Handling / Performance Upgrade Option, but I still don't think Ford will ever do it, especially now that they have the Traction Control option on these cars. With it on, there is no anoying one-wheel peel ... the car just gets up and goes as fast as it can without spinning that tire. Drove a rental for 2 days ... was out on a tollway and hammered it out of every toll plaza, and I was very impressed by it's off the line capability. Never turned the TC off so I did not experience the one-wheel-peel. Traction-Lok would obviously still be a big help in improving this cars potential off the line performance, but the "typical" V6 owner (most of us on this board NOT INCLUDED) would not need or want it.

On my 2004, Traction-Lok & Quad Shocks went in it before I hit 100 miles. Also traded the crappy Goodyear LS tires in for BFG KDWS's at the same time, so no big embarassing 1-wheel burnouts will ever be performed in this car !! I did take a test drive in another 2004 5-Speed (no Traction Control) before ordering mine and the one-wheel-peel was very anoying ... the skinny crappy O.E. tires were no help either !!

I do agree though, let FORD know that you want T-Lok as a Factory Option. The more people that ask for it the better. Back in 1998 I (female dog)ed at Ford for not allowing me to delete the useless 4-way Power Drivers Seat on my '98 (as I was able to do in 1994). I said if you can't offer at least "6-Way Adjustment", don't offer it at all. In the following model year (1999), the 6-Way Power Seat came out ... see, Ford listened to me !!

See if you can find my "first time being sensored" on this board above ... pretty cool Brad !!

How does the T-Lok interact with V6 Mustangs that have the ABS/TCS setup? This is all new to me so if anyone can shed some light, it'd be appreciated...

ABS wont have any affect on it. With the TCS I think the only difference you are going to notice is with the TC off, where it will simply function as a normal T-Lok.
