Swapping out V6 for V8
I have a 07 V6 mustang, all stock. Was wondering,id like to swap it out for a V8 motor.. What im wondering,is what is the cheapest way i can go? Should i try buying a 302 from a fox body,or a 4.6 from the s197,or could i get away with a 5.4 from the Shelby? Also, what else would i need besides rearend, gears, driveshaft, engine harness?? PLEASE HELP. I cant trade my car in either,or i would just buy a gt.

I can't speak for the Mustang, but I visit a forum dealing with C body Mopars a lot. They talk at gret lengths about swapping out small block V8's for bif block (440) V8's. Oftentimes, motor mounts are different, as well as positions of alternators, radiators, etc. You might be looking at a lot of fabrication to make it work. But, as the man said, "speed is just a question of money. How fast can you afford to go?"

I did that swap on my GT (that's why I have my GT motor for sale) you might be able to get a GT500 motor for around 7k or so if you can find one in decent shape.
You'll also need the trans (another 1-2k) cross member, shifter, clutch, flywheel.
If you go with a GT motor I think you still may need a transmission but I'm not certain.
You'll likely have to swap exhausts as well.
Then there's the ECU, radiator, coolant tanks and hoses.
So it can definitely get expensive.

Forget about it
If you can't afford to trade in for a V8, than your can't afford the swap.
It would be more expensive to swap to a V8 than to add a supercharger.
I have been looking into a supercharger for my V6 and have found that it would be cheaper to trade in for a low miles V8.

Nope, I mean the 3V used in the F150 etc. The rest of the parts are from the GT (CPU, Harness, trans, rear). It won't be cheap. You can find 05-07 GTs pretty cheap now though. It's probably the cheaper option unless you still owe money on the V6.
I think you mean 4v ?
