Caught this on another board: http://www.nichepi.com/billet.htm

It's a little pricey (carbon fiber and billet construction) but it does fit and prove it's possible. Even looks like you *might* be able to slip Midwest's intake cover under it....

I'm pretty sure thats the same strut tower brace that had been posted here a while back. I remember since the stut tower caps and carbon fiber bar caught my attention. Of course I may be thinking of a different bar but I don't think I am.

The mounts look sort of similar to the Steeda billet bar for the GT. Maybe that's what's being thought of?

It tightens up the front of the car which reduces body flex and in turn improves handling.

I order this on Ebay, but they are unable to fill the order. They say that all their carbon fiber is being used in Iraq. But I got my refund.

If Iraq is actually causing a carbon fiber crisis, I'm suddenly picturing convoys of tricked out rice rockets heading down to Crawford, TX

'course I'm not picturing that crowd being big Joan Baez fans

Here is the story I got...

"Dear Niche Performance Industries customer.

If you are receiving this email it is because recently you had purchased one of our companies NPI Carbon Fiber Strut tower braces for the 2005+ ford Mustang.

Because of overwhelming demand we became very overwhelmed with order of the last 60 days.

During manufacturing the company that supplies our Carbon fiber, a government supply source suddenly took our money and hasn’t delivered any materials to make the braces in the last 60 days. The only information we have been provided is that the War over in Iraq has soaked up most the CF for military applications.

Unfortunately it’s not looking good to get any CF anytime soon.

We apologize for the delay and that we could not fulfill your order. But until we can get some more bulk Carbon fiber in we will not be filling any more orders. So please get back to us and well work things out with you.

David Simpson

Here's another one on ebay.. I don't particularly like the chrome, but another one none the less. It's also failry cheap, and it doesn't say who manufactures it so... anyone know anything more about it?

V6 Strut Tower Brace

EDIT: didn't see that it was available in black also

I bought one of those off Ebay (in black). It was a large disappointment, even at the low price. Cosmetically, they powder coated it without removing the welding spatter near the welds (looks bad). It's also very lightweight steel, I question how much stiffness it would add.

What's worse, it doesn't fit. It's about a half inch too long. I contacted the seller and was told to try jacking the car up with the weight off the front wheels. I haven't bothered due to the poor appearence and my personal doubt that it would work.

Wow, the suggestion to put your car up to spread the front 1/2" is funny---especially when you think about putting the bar in, it STAYS 1/2" wider---how would the hood/fender lines look? hehe...extra 1/4" gap each side??

I looked at the picture before I read your comments---it looks like poor quality tubular steel, but it's hard to know from just the picture.
