LOL, magazines. I will have to go back and re-read them. I think Cervini's has a blown GT at 500. Ok, I"m not exactly an expert, so eveyone weigh in on what they told me.
Cervini website says 535hp. I'd like to see a dyno. I doubt the stock 4.6 can handle that much RWHP or even FWHP.

Well that's kind of narrow minded. Heck, if I had that kind of money I'd drop a terminator motor in my car!
Narrow minded? Do I really need to explain how the thing works?

Where have you seen a GT with 500RWHP? With a stock block?
Lidio is close... he's at about 475 RWHP, with a Vortech and methonal...

Scrming - I hate you more for your camera than your times now. I just want you to know that.

450 seems to be the magic number for the 4.6 3vs .. after that its treading into dangerous territory. Of course, I remember so clearly just a year ago when they said the new motor would never even take boost at all.. hmm...

Someone show me a 4.0L DOHC under boost and Ill then be impressed

Am I missing something here? The cost/HP ratio of what we are using to seeing on the 05's just dosent add up. Unless he has some long term plans in mind?
You are forgetting that the 4.6 3 valve in the gt's is a weak motor, while ppl have takin the terminator motor to 700rwhp+ (ive seen over 800) on the stock block with fuel and air upgrades. The internals on a terminator motor are all forged, the weakest point in them is the connecting rods rated at 700 or 800 hp (forget which) at 8,000rpm. Which means thats good for 900-1000hp at 6750rpm. After that you are on borrowed time. But a 500rwhp cobra is not unusually, its actually more common than not. Im going to get my 03 to about 580rwhp and ill be happy for a while.

Wow, ok....thanks for that. I didn't know that about the terminator motor.

A member of our local club is getting about 440+ with his 05GT and Vortech (no methanol).

His screename is GETopless--you can see the dyno sheets in this thread: http://www.hcmcstangs.com/forum/forum_post...p?TID=1882&PN=1

It's a nice car---I call it "my big brother" because it's a Mineral Gray Vert. too!

The exhaust on his car is I N S A N E !!! I mean, it's deafening and painful...hehehe

I don't see the logic in comparing a mass production motor to that of a hand built special edition's.

A stock GT can make 500 rwhp, the question is for how long. I feel a lot more comfortable with the Cobra engine. Plus I think this guy is looking for 500-600+ rwhp in the future. If that's the case, you would have to replace the stock GT engine anyway.
