rear sway bar installation...
Ok, so I squeezed underneath the Defiant today to try and install the new rear sway bar (3/4" diameter). I even managed to procure the proper torque wrench from my boss' brother (no small feat, there... I am an idiot sometimes when it comes to tools). My father decided to "help" with the install and ended up dragging things out until the sun started to set. He went from "read the directions" to "we don't need any stinkin' instructions" in less than two hours.
The main problem we ran into was attaching the axle brackets to the mounting points... the shocks seem to be in the way, which makes tightening the axle bolts extremely frustrating. Dad insisted that the car had to A) be up on a lift and B) the shocks and wheels had to be removed. I disagreed... I was under the impression that it was relatively easy to install one of these things provided that you could fit your own personal bulk underneath the car. Am I wrong?
I don't get much time off of work to work on my car... I had really been planning to get this freakin' thing on today but I guess not. Do you guys think I should just throw in the towel and pay a local shop to do it? Shouldn't cost more than $50 or so, should it? It's just a matter of tightening a half dozen bolts...

I put the OEM rear anti-sway bar on my V6. Had to put car on a lift and remove the rear tires. There are two OEM sway bars: one for the coupe and one for the 'vert. Both listed for the GT....not the V6. Used all OEM mounting nuts and bolts.
