Has any one had the problem when driving around a corner and there are bumps that the back end of the stang hops out? I was only going about 50 or so when this happens I have taken it to the dealer and they looked at it and checked it over and everything is tight and there were no service bulletins out. The service guys told me that this may be an upcoming recall to put looser springs on it but for now I am just supposed to watch it and if it gets worse to bring it back in. any ideas out there or any one having the same problem?

I have driven other mustangs and not one of them has had a drastic bump out like this. Is it just me or does the rear feel really sloppy

well, there isn't a sway bar in the rear of a v6...but definitely add one for reduced body roll in the corners...as far as the bump in the corners is concerned, the upgrade on the shocks might help...i would recommend bilsteins if they make a model for 05 v6...they're pricy but they offer the control and still offer a decent ride. jackg 90seville 96k

I've experienced the rear hopping on corners. Will this cause any damage to the car if it happens often?

I know this is damaging, that is why I took it to the dealer and wanted to see if any one else has had the same problem. Service told me that if enough people complain about a problem that ford would be forced to fix at their cost.

It's called "Wheel Hop" and it's common on the GT's too. I get it if I dump the clutch too hard taking off (like racing) but I have lit the tires up by dumping it just right.... I think it's caused by the 3 link rear end and spring placement on the new design. It's not good for the car, but it won't kill it.... Of course the more stress you put on anything it weakens / wears it out. don't worry about replacing springs, control arms.... just try to drive a little different.

No I am not talking about wheel hop. it is actually when going around a corner and there is a bump the whole rear end wants to hop over to the next lane.
