Is it possible?

A friend of mine has a 05+ V6. Since I just got my Flowmaster A/T's on, we were both wondering if it was possible to use the stock axle-backs from a GT on a V6?

Yes, the V6 guys do it all the time. It does require a bit of work though, especially if you want to do a true dual exhaust for the V6. That seems to be a popular thing to do with them. From what I understand, they actually sound pretty good with the duals...getting close to a V8 in sound.

The Passenger GT take off will bolt up to the V6 no problem (may have to slighlty tweak the hanger bracket to ensure proper clearance on rear bumper).

Here is my write-up on this easy swap:

I originally wanted true duals, however, after performing the swap, I found that I had achieved my desired results. I was looking for a deeper sound and I received it (even more so after a K&N aircharger install). I also noticed a difference in performance.

Shouldn't take much more than 30 minutes to do!!

This post has before and after Pics as well:

Not only is this possible, it's the most economical and easiest conversion available and you'll wind up with the best sounding exhaust system around.
I've had this modification for almost two years. At the time I ended up spending less than $300 for everything - mufflers, midpipe, hangers,
H-pipe and installation.
Good luck - you'll love it!!

What exactly did you need to do to get both of the mufflers?

Pypes SFM-65 kit, using the GT take-offs. Either swap rear bumper cover or trim the stock one on the driver's side.

yeah you can get the gt take-off for pretty cheap also online, and it looks a lot better than just trimming up your v6 bumper.

Racer3, Did you cut the other side for the other exhaust pipe to go? how did you get it to look that clean like the bumper was molded that way?

I did the same thing to mine. Def lovin it. There is a template on the Pypes website to cut the bumper. It was almost too easy. You can use almost anything that will cut plastic to do this and it takes only a couple of minutes.
I also think the bumper looks better this way. More old school...
